A Vision for Personalized and Connected Learning - 3 views

  •
I have seen some learning management systems for schools with access for teachers, faculty managers, parents and students, that allowed follow up, assesment, connected learning, etc. Of course usability and design were quite far away from what is shown in this video, but for me was very inspiring, and left me with the felling of "we are almost there!" Thank you for sharing!

Changing paradigms: Education - 0 views

Music sampling and mash-ups - 2 views

  •
Interesting TED talk about artists who sample other artists' music for their songs. As Owen Chapman states, the artists who are successful with sampling and song mash-ups are the ones who do not make profit from the actual songs. Rather, they make their living from their concerts. I liked this video because it exposed me to a different avenue of making it in the music world - sample and mash-up popular songs to build a fan base, then have that fan base turn into a demand for live performances.

#2minPD is here - 3 views

  •
This site brings the concept of participatory culture to teacher professional development. I see it as an aspect of citizen activism because it is essentially taking the old idea of "professional development" (US teachers are probably all too familiar with sitting in a room while someone from a publisher makes them go page by page through a binder of photocopiable worksheets) and turns it on its head. #2minpd is teachers creating the professional development and sharing it in a format that does not demean participants.
