I just skimmed through the blog, I sort of understand your initial idea because i have been following Howard Rheingold and taking part of connected courses. Last week it was a really good hangout with Alec Crouso and Mia Zamora and Howard and many more about social learning and connectivity.

It is a really good design and a pedagogical change to introduce peer to peer learning or peer as a co-learner and a teacher.

We all tend to say we need a change in a way we access the scientific information. It is time for people to about models that can benefit Researchers as well as the publishers as well. This recourse provide some of my thinking.. where advertising should come in the middle ..
