I enjoyed this Tedx talk by Donald Clarke from the University of Glasgow with the title "More pedagogic change in 10 years than last 1000 years" - very relevant to open access knowledge too - video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEJ_ATgrnnY (I agree with him that e-learning is the way to go, since it frees us from the tyranny of time and location, and is often much more affordable!)

I enjoyed this video as well! The scalability advantages through the use of technology are undeniable. I particularly liked how Donald talked about the advantages of recorded lectures. Repetition is the father of learning and unfortunately lecture-styled learning does not allow for this. I also liked how he mentioned the benefits of platforms like YouTube and Facebook for making learning more accessible and more effective. These platforms cannot be ignored due to the high volume of individuals on them and must continue to be used in the realm of education.

    Thanks for posting, Marina!

Even if the guy's accent is really terrific, I loved this video. I agree about the need to turn over the classic way of learning (one teacher speaking to sleeping students). Give the chance the teacher to answer the questions students have done themselves while dealing with te content, and then they will be interested, they will know what the teacher is talking about and they will find out how to do things by themselves!

Dear Colleagues, thank you for sharing this video, it really does not tell us anything new and thus may not agree but it is gratifying to know that we do not preach in the desert, today pedagogy and teaching methodologies are fossilized, such and as it says in the video but for that to change we must do our part, keep studying and disseminating this type of education, will seem ironic, but you may not know the great resistance encounter in my work to implement and design e-learning systems, both in enterprise and educational institutions, and the reason is very simple, the great educational managers lack the slightest digital competition.
A hug and hope we continue this conversation.

Hi all! My name is Ashton and I'm a Graduate Assistant for your MOOC course. I really enjoyed this video and find the discussion you are having very relevant and interesting. I love Ted Talks and hadn't, until this thread, really considered how they represent a shift in our learning environment. Keep up the great work!
