Building mutual understanding is a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy abroad. Through the explanation and presentation of U.S policies, values, culture and history, U.S. embassies and consulates abroad seek to tell America's story. To that end, the U.S. Mission to China (Embassy Beijing and Consulates General Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenyang, and Wuhan) seeks to support activities that, whether through existing partnerships between eligible U.S. institutions and their Chinese counterparts or through new ties, explain American foreign policy, values and culture to the people of China. Such programming will enhance and broaden the outreach of the U.S. Mission in China. The U.S. Embassy in Beijing seeks to ensure that programming is representative of the depth and breadth of U.S. foreign policy, history values and culture. The U.S.-China relationship is one of the United States' most important bilateral relationships and much work remains to enable mutual understanding between the peoples of the two nations. Proposals should increase overall understanding of U.S. policy, society, and values by the people of China.

The Polish Studies Association is pleased to announce its inaugural Dissertation Research Award. This award, in the amount of XXXX, aims to assist dissertation research on any topic in the humanities and social sciences that makes significant contributions to the study of Poland and/or Poland in a global context. The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) will provide Federal assistance to support innovative projects seeking to promote and ensure the inclusion and use of minority enterprises. This Announcement is a mechanism to encourage new activities, education, outreach, innovative projects or sponsorships that are not addressed through other MBDA programs. MBDA has established key priorities designed to overcome the unique challenges faced by minority business enterprises (MBEs). The U.S. Embassy Tokyo's Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out an artistic program that will deepen U.S.-Japan relations by preserving the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games Legacy of diversity and inclusion, sustainability, and peace and prosperity.

One of the oldest foundations in America, the Russell Sage Foundation was established by Margaret Olivia Sage in 1907 for "the improvement of social and living conditions in the United States." In its early years, the foundation undertook major projects in low-income housing, urban planning, social work, and labor reform. The foundation now dedicates itself exclusively to strengthening the methods, data, and theoretical core of the social sciences as a means of diagnosing social problems and improving social policies.

Under the 2016 - 2020 Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS), USAID/Zimbabwe anticipates awarding a five-year $25 million cooperative agreement to provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) at the national level and in Manicaland province. This award will be made through a full and open competition, under which any type of organization is eligible to apply. Building on the achievements of current USAID-supported activities, the purpose of the activity is improved maternal, youth, and child health and survival in beneficiary communities and populations. This activity will improve the health of women, youth, and children in Manicaland by strengthening maternal, newborn, child health and family planning (integrated MNCH-FP) service delivery throughout the continuum of care, i.e., from the home, to the community, to the primary care facility, and to the tertiary referral hospital. Continuum of care refers to a concept involving a system that guides and tracks patients over time through a comprehensive array of health services spanning all levels and intensity of care. Integrated MNCH-FP service delivery refers to combining together MNCH and FP health services in order to expand access to care, increase efficiencies, and improve health outcomes. The activity will also increase access to a broader range of family planning methods through outreach services at the national level.

Through this solicitation, USAID/India announces its desire to engage in new--or to expand existing-- public and private sector partnerships for India in priority areas defined by the Government of India (GOI) and the United States Government (USG). The National Endowment for Democracy is a private nonprofit foundation dedicated to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world. Each year, the endowment makes more than twelve hundred grants to support the projects of nongovernmental groups abroad that are working for democratic goals in over nineties countries. To advance this mission, NED is seeking proposals for projects that advance democratic goals and strengthen democratic institutions. Grants of up to $50,000 over twelve will be awarded in support of nonpartisan programs that seek to promote and defend human rights and the rule of law, support freedom of information and independent media, and promote accountability and transparency. To be eligible, applicants must be nongovernmental organizations, including civic organizations, associations, independent media, and other similar groups. Applications are encouraged from organizations working in diverse environments, including newly established democracies, semi-authoritarian countries, highly repressive societies, and countries undergoing democratic transition.

The U.S. Embassy in Amman is pleased to announce a call for proposals for the 2018 Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP). The Fund was established by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in 2001, to help countries preserve their cultural heritage and to demonstrate U.S. respect for different cultures around the world. Floor on Amount of Individual Awards: US $10,000 per project. Ceiling on Amount of Individual Awards: $200,000 per project.

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for projects that support to combat slavery and assist the reintegration of former slaves into society in West Africa.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to invite applications from research institutions in low- to middle-income countries (LMIC) to provide senior administrators from these institutions with advanced training in the management of NIH grants. The ultimate goal is to improve oversight of NIAID grant awards and compliance with NIH funding policies and Federal research funding requirements for NIAID-supported foreign institutions in low to middle-income countries.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages applications to study the ethical, legal and societal issues (ELSI) of human genome research in African populations. Of particular interest are projects that propose focused bioethical, legal, and social science analyses of new or emerging issues.

COMAC builds upon previous USAID/Afghanistan programming, including the current Afghan Civilian Assistance Program (ACAP III) activity, which ends in February 2018. The original ACAP program supported Afghan civilian families and communities that have suffered losses as a result of the being caught between fighting among Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF), Afghan National Army, and Resolute Support (RS) troops against the Taliban and other anti-government elements (AGEs). COMAC will provide tailored, small-scale assistance packages to eligible families to mitigate the immediate impact of the ongoing conflict on their lives. No cash disbursements are foreseen. Assistance will be provided based on individual family needs. COMAC's funding directive is to assist Afghan civilian victims harmed by military operations.

The purpose of the Tanzania Malaria Surveillance and Monitoring (TMSM) Cooperative Agreement is to support the Government of Tanzania to reduce the burden of malaria and to move towards the long-term goal of malaria elimination.

The Peace Development Fund is committed to supporting organizations and projects that recognize that peace will never be sustained unless it is based on justice and an appreciation of both the diversity and unity of the human family. Our Community Organizing grants are PDF's open door to any and all who wish to apply. Groups should have budgets less than $250,000 and be located in the U.S., Mexico or Haiti. Deadline for this cycle is January 12, 2018 at 5 p.m. PST. Grants are in the $2,500 to $10,000 range, and average $5,000. PDF is particularly interested in receiving applications from new or emerging organizations; efforts that have difficulty securing funds from other sources; community organizations working on climate change issues at the local policy level; groups that have a genesis in Occupy or Movement for Black Lives; collaborative peace initiatives led by women; or issues that are not yet recognized by progressive funders.

Objectives: To build on Mission India's existing Emerging Leaders Engagement Strategy (a strategic priority for Mission India) this program aims to strengthen our engagement with the next generation of India's emerging youth and political leaders. The core objective of this program is to invest in the next generation of Indian leaders and to provide a platform for youth to identify and discuss global political and economic trends related to the U.S.-India bilateral relationship. Additionally, the program goal is to build/create network of leaders and mentors, with whom the U.S. Mission can engage to further strengthen the bilateral relationship, through an exchange of experience, information and expertise. Topics for the project should include, but are not limited to, security, counterterrorism, trade, bilateral investment, science and technology, and education

Objectives: To promote higher education opportunities in the United States by engaging with U.S. university alumni residing in the east and northeast India region, promoting EducationUSA programming, and encouraging Indian students to apply to colleges and universities in the U.S. The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Kolkata (PAS Kolkata) seeks proposals for a project entitled "U.S. Universities Alumni: The East and Northeast India Connect Program." In this project, the grantee will work with the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), EducationUSA and PAS Kolkata to identify U.S. university alumni residing in the east and northeast India region (Kolkata Consular District) and create a database of the established alumni. The grantee will also, in collaboration with EducationUSA, create a year-long plan that includes organizing workshops and interactive sessions between the U.S. university alumni and potential U.S. university applicants and their parents at the American Center in Kolkata and at select venues of partnering institutions in cities that generate strong potential student populations, such as Patna, Guwahati, Siliguri, Jamshedpur, Shillong, and Ranchi.
