The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is accepting applications from teachers of pre-K-5 mathematics for projects that incorporate music into the classroom to help young students learn math. Grants of up to $3,000 will be awarded to individual classroom teachers or small groups of teachers collaborating in a grade or across grade levels. Any acquisition of equipment must support the proposed plan but not be the primary focus of the grant. Proposals must address the integration of mathematics and music, planning for improving students' learning, and/or the anticipated impact on student achievement. Applicants must be a current Full Individual or E-Member of NCTM or teach in a school with a current NCTM pre-K-8 school membership and currently teach mathematics or collaborate with teachers of math in grades pre-K-2. 

Purpose of Program: The Institute's purpose in awarding these grants is to provide national leadership in expanding fundamental knowledge and understanding of (1) developmental and school readiness outcomes for infants and toddlers with or at risk for a disability, and (2) education outcomes for all students from early childhood education through postsecondary and adult education. The Institute's research grant programs are designed to provide interested individuals and the general public with reliable and valid information about education practices that support learning and improve academic achievement and access to education opportunities for all students. The purposes of the Educational Technology, Media, and Materials for Individuals with Disabilities Program are to: (1) Improve results for students with disabilities by promoting the development, demonstration, and use of technology; (2) support educational activities designed to be of educational value in the classroom for students with disabilities; (3) provide support for captioning and video description that is appropriate for use in the classroom; and (4) provide accessible educational materials to students with disabilities in a timely manner.Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number 84.327A. The TESOL International Association is accepting applications to its Tina B. Carver Fund. Through the fund, grants of up to $400 will be awarded for the purchase of student classroom learning materials and/or teacher-related materials (e.g., ancillary materials that can be used in conjunction with textbooks or other instruction materials) in support of adult ESL education programs in the United States. Priority will be given to programs that serve hard-to-reach students with limited resources (e.g., beginning literacy to intermediate-low ESL students). To be eligible, applicants must be a TESOL member or member of a TESOL affiliate.

The Kenneth B. and Mamie P. Clark Fund, supports research and demonstration activities that promote the understanding of the relationship between self-identity and academic achievement with an emphasis on children in grade levels K-8. This grant will alternate every other year between an early career psychologist and a graduate student. The 2013 grant will support a graduate student.

With support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) operates a grant program that supports research on a wide range of issues of critical importance to U.S. higher education. To qualify for funding, proposal submissions must use data from one or more of the national datasets of NCES or NSF listed in the grant guidelines.  Additional large-scale, nationally representative datasets may be used in conjunction with the obligatory NSF or NCES dataset. Two levels of grants are supported: Research Grants: Faculty and practitioners are eligible for research grants of up to $40,000 for one year of independent research. Dissertation Grants: Doctoral students are eligible for dissertation grants of up to $20,000 for one year to support dissertation research and writing under the guidance of a faculty dissertation advisor. 

The National Council on Disability (NCD) seeks proposals for a report assessing the experiences and outcomes of students with disabilities whose families make use of voucher programs or enroll them in charter schools in lieu of traditional public school. NCD first examined the topic of school choice and vouchers in 2003. NCD again revisited the topic of school choice in 2011 during a regional educational policy forum in Florida, during which time we invited the participation of voucher program administrators, school board members, charter school associations, state education departments, and parents of students with disabilities to share their experiences with NCD. NCD is interested in building upon those public inputs and its 2003 paper on vouchers, this time expanding the scope to include examination of charter schools. The purpose of the NIH Blueprint Diversity Specialized Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Advancement in Neuroscience (D-SPAN) Award is to support a defined pathway across career stages for outstanding graduate students who are from backgrounds that are nationally underrepresented in neuroscience research. This two-phase award will facilitate completion of the doctoral dissertation and transition of talented graduate students to strong neuroscience research postdoctoral positions, and will provide career development opportunities relevant to their long-term career goal of becoming independent neuroscience researchers.

The JAMS Foundation/ACR Initiative for Students and Youth provides grant funding for conflict prevention and dispute resolution programs for K-12 students and for adults working with youth populations in ways that directly transfer CRE skills from adults to youth. Each year, the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) and the JAMS Foundation identify specific subject areas seeking to address otherwise unresolved issues and unmet needs of both general and target youth populations, based on current research and feedback from leaders and stakeholders in the dispute resolution and education fields. Funding contexts for selected subject areas will vary, and may include community-based organizations, alternative education settings (online education, charter schools), after-school programs, court- or juvenile justice-connected programs, as well as programs operating in traditional K-12 school districts.

Bringing Theory to Practice Project, an independent project established by the Association of American Colleges and Universities, is accepting proposals from universities and colleges in the United States for projects aimed promoting the nexus of engaged learning, civic engagement, and psychosocial well-being among college and university students. Seminar grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded for projects that bring together diverse members of the campus community to discuss the civic mission of the institution and how the full expression of that mission can be achieved. Proposals will be accepted on a quarterly-deadline system (June 15, September 15, December 15, and March 15), with awards announced two weeks after each deadline. Program Development grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to enhance or extend a program that is consistent with BTtoP's objective of promoting engaged learning, civic engagement, and the psychosocial well-being of students. Institutional matching support is required for all grants. Proposals will bee accepted on a quarterly-deadline system (June 15, September 15, December 15, and March 15), with awards announced six to eight weeks after each deadline.

The purpose of the NNF Grants Program is to provide funding to support students' training and completion of master's and/or doctoral degree programs in identified national need areas within the Food, Agricultural, Natural Resources, and Human Sciences. Awards made under NNF are specifically intended to support traineeship programs that engage outstanding students to pursue and complete their degrees in areas where there is a national need for the development of scientific and professional expertise in the food and agricultural sciences. NNF awards invest in graduate training and relevant international experiential learning for a cadre of diverse individuals who demonstrate their potential to successfully complete graduate degree programs in disciplines relevant to the mission of the USDA.

Energy company Constellation believes that providing quality educational opportunities and career development are among the most important tools it can provide to communities to help them succeed over the long term.  To that end, the company is accepting grant applications for local community projects designed to inspire students to think differently about energy. Grants of up to $25,000 will be awarded for projects at the 6-12 grade level and up to $50,000 for projects at the college level. Projects should be team-oriented, learning-focused, hands-on demonstration projects that generate specific results and reach a minimum of a hundred students. 

The NEA Foundation recognizes that in order for students to prepare for the global age, the educator must first be equipped with the knowledge, skills and disposition needed to teach in the global age. By participating in the Global Learning Fellowship program, educators have an opportunity to lead the profession by acquiring the necessary skills to integrate global competence into their daily classroom instruction, advance pedagogy in their school/district, prepare students to thrive in the flattened global age, and thus contribute to the closing of the global achievement gap.

Great Lakes' 2014-2015 College Success grants provide funding for colleges to identify more students who are struggling academically early in their freshman year, and to connect those students with existing campus-based services that can help them succeed.

The goal of this activity is to foster novel, transformative, multidisciplinary approaches that address the use of large data sets to create actionable knowledge for improving STEM teaching and learning environments (formal and informal) in the medium term, and to revolutionize learning in the longer term. These approaches will involve the work of learning scientists, STEM disciplinary experts, computer scientists, statisticians, database experts and educational researchers who design and study learning environments. Among the potential benefits of integrating approaches from these disciplines are improving student learning and engagement, optimizing personalized instruction, and supporting rapid decision making to help educators respond more effectively to the learning needs of individuals and groups of learners in multiple settings. These approaches may be risky but should have the potential to rapidly advance the field. The scope of this activity does not include infrastructure development focused on data base design and development for education domains. The new approaches envisioned in this solicitation will require the generation and use of data that range from micro-level data on individual learners, to data from online learning sources (such as massively open online courses), to meso-level data from the classroom that provide information to students and teachers about how learning is progressing, to macro-level data such as school, district, state, and national data, including data from federal science and policy agencies.
