he U.S. Embassy Macedonia Public Affairs Section is pleased to announce that funding is available for academic year English language teaching programs that offer primary and/or secondary school students in Macedonia innovative and experiential learning opportunities to improve their English and learn about the United States. Programs should meet at least once a week throughout the academic school year, beginning in September 2017. The main objectives of this program are to: * Provide opportunities for disadvantaged students to improve their English speaking ability. * Teach about American culture and values through English language learning. * Connect students in the United States and Macedonia, so that they can learn more about each other and build relationships. * Promote inter-ethnic understanding among students in Macedonia. The Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation (OPRE) of the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) plans to provide funds for Head Start Graduate Student Research Grants to support dissertation research by advanced graduate students who are working in partnership with Head Start programs and with faculty mentors. Competitive applicants will 1) demonstrate a collaborative partnership with their program partners, and 2) pursue research questions that directly inform local, State, or Federal policy relevant to early care and education practice. Applicants are expected to demonstrate an established partnership with their early care and education program partners that should be apparent throughout the research plan, from development and refinement of the research questions through the proposed data collection, interpretation, and dissemination. The International Research Experiences for Students (IRES) program supports international research and research-related activities for U.S. science and engineering students. The IRES program contributes to development of a diverse, globally-engaged workforce with world-class skills. IRES focuses onactive research participation by undergraduate or graduate students in high quality international research, education and professional development experiences in NSF-funded research areas. The overarching, long-term goal of the IRES program is to enhanceU.S. leadership in research and education and to strengthen economic competitiveness through training the next generation of research leaders. The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) will award Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) research education grants (R25) to institutions focused on developing new or expanding existing effective institutional developmental programs designed to academically and scientifically prepare underrepresented (UR) students in the biomedical or behavioral sciences for competitive research careers. The RISE program provides grants to institutions with significant enrollment of students from populations underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences that propose well-integrated developmental activities designed to strengthen students academic preparation, research training and professional skills that are critical to the completion of the Ph.D. degree in the biomedical and/or behavioral sciences.

The Institute's National Center for Education Research (NCER) will hold five competitions: One competition for education research, one competition for education research training, one competition for education research and development centers, one competition for statistical and research methodology in education, and one competition for partnerships and collaborations focused on problems of practice or policy. The Institute's National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) will not hold competitions in FY 2014.

In a search for innovative solutions, our 2017-2019 College Completion Grant provides funding for colleges to identify struggling students who are near completion - with an emphasis on low-income students and students of color - and develop the interventions necessary to keep them in college and on track to graduation.

The Education Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) provides national and professional leadership in developing undergraduate research in the areas of Teaching and Learning, the Learning Sciences, Teacher Education and related disciplines. One goal is to provide financial support for undergraduate students for conducting education research and disseminating their findings. To this end, the Education Division is pleased to announce its Faculty-Student Collaborative Research in Education Award. Two (2) awards of $250 each will be made available each academic year to students in education majors and education-related fields.  Dual and double majors are also eligible to apply. Undergraduates at any stage of their undergraduate programs are encouraged to apply.

he Investing in Innovation Fund, established under section 14007 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), provides funding to support (1) local educational agencies (LEAs) and (2) nonprofit organizations in partnership with (a) one or more LEAs or (b) a consortium of schools. The purpose of this program is to provide competitive grants to applicants with a record of improving student achievement and attainment in order to expand the implementation of, and investment in, innovative practices that are demonstrated to have an impact on improving student achievement or student growth, closing achievement gaps, decreasing dropout rates, increasing high school graduation rates, or increasing college enrollment and completion rates. These grants will (1) allow eligible entities to expand and develop innovative practices that can serve as models of best practices, (2) allow eligible entities to work in partnership with the private sector and the philanthropic community, and (3) identify and document best practices that can be shared and taken to scale based on demonstrated success.

The Professional Development for Arts Educators (PDAE) program supports the implementation of high-quality model professional development programs in elementary and secondary education for music, dance, drama, media arts, or visual arts, including folk arts, for educators and other arts instructional staff of kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12) students in high-poverty schools. The purpose of this program is to strengthen standards-based arts education programs and to help ensure that all students meet challenging State academic content standards and challenging State student academic achievement standards in the arts.

BLM has an opportunity to work with a partner organization to assist BLM with partnership with local schools and communities bordering public lands, the BLMâ¿¿s 93 Hands on the Land sites offer the premier formal education programs within the agency, allowing nearly 100,000 students to access and experience BLM public lands in Fiscal Year 2017 alone. The BLMâ¿¿s Washington Office, Division of Education, Interpretation, and Partnerships has funding to collaborate with a partner to provide leadership and support to the BLMâ¿¿s 93 Hands on the Land (HOL) sites and connect them with the existing interagency HOL National Network of outdoor classrooms. Integrating the BLMâ¿¿s HOL sites into the interagency HOL National Network will provide agency sites with the multi-level support they need to foster and expand relationships with local communities and schools, improve coordination with other Federal agencies, expand access to public lands for students and their families, and introduce students and teachers to the concepts of multiple-use management and balanced conservation stewardship of public lands.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to provide opportunities for eligible small business concerns (SBCs) to submit STTR grant applications to develop interactive digital media science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) resources that address student career choice and health and medicine topics for: (1) pre-kindergarten to grade 12 (P-12) students and pre- and in-service teachers ("Teachers") or (2) Informal science education (ISE), i.e., outside the classroom, audiences. Interactive digital media (IDM) are defined as products and services on digital computer-based systems which respond to the user's actions by presenting content such as text, moving image, animation, video, audio, and video games. There is a large body of evidence that IDM technology has the potential to support learning in a variety of contexts from primary and secondary schools, to universities, adult education and workplace training. IDM is widely used to train, educate, and encourage behavioral changes in a virtual world format where progressive learning, feedback on success and user control are combined into an interactive and engaging experience. It is anticipated that this STTR FOA will facilitate the translation of new or existing health and medicine-based, P-12 STEM curricula and museum exhibits into educational Interactive Digital Media STEM (IDM STEM) resources that will provide a hands-on, inquiry-based and learning-by-doing experience for students, teachers and the community.

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is accepting applications to its Equity in Mathematics grant program from classroom teachers in grades 6-8. The purpose of the grant program is to help teachers incorporate middle school classroom materials or lessons that boost the achievement of students with a previous record of underachievement into their classrooms. Grants of up to $8,000 will be awarded to persons currently teaching math in grades 6-12, and proposals must address the following: the mathematics content as defined in NCTM's Principles and Standards for School Mathematics; the plan for improving achievement of the targeted students; and the anticipated impact on students' achievement. To be eligible, applicants must be a current full individual or E-member of NCTM or teach at a school with a current NCTM PreK-8 school membership and currently teach mathematics in grades 6-8 at least 50 percent of the school day.

The Education Innovation and Research (EIR) program, established under section 4611 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA), provides funding to create, develop, implement, replicate, or take to scale entrepreneurial, evidence-based, field-initiated innovations to improve student achievement and attainment for high-need students; and rigorously evaluate such innovations. The EIR program is designed to generate and validate solutions to persistent educational challenges and to support the expansion of those solutions to serve substantially larger numbers of students. The central design element of the EIR program is its multi-tier structure that links the amount of funding that an applicant may receive to the quality of the evidence supporting the efficacy of the proposed project, with the expectation that projects that build this evidence will advance through EIR's grant tiers: ``Early-phase,'' ``Mid-phase,'' and ``Expansion.'' Applicants proposing innovative practices that are supported by limited evidence can receive relatively small grants to support the development, implementation, and initial evaluation of the practices; applicants proposing practices supported by evidence from rigorous evaluations, such as an experimental study (as defined in this notice), can receive larger grant awards to support expansion across the country.

Guided by the belief that all lives have equal value, and that all students-especially Black, Latino, and low-income students-must have equal access to a great public education that prepares them for adulthood, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is excited to announce this Request for Proposal (RFP) to fund Networks for School Improvement (NSI). An NSI is a group of secondary schools working in partnership with an Intermediary organization to use a continuous improvement process to significantly increase the number of Black, Latino, and low-income students who earn a high school diploma, enroll in a postsecondary institution, and are on track in their first year to earn a credential with labor-market value. Secondary school teams work collaboratively to identify, test, and refine solutions that target a problem and reach an aim common across the network. An NSI's aim is to improve outcomes that are predictive of high school graduation and postsecondary success.
