The American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN) is pleased to announce the Robin J. Trupp Scholarship. This annual scholarship is in recognition of her ongoing dedication to optimal patient care and the mission/vision of AAHFN.

he purpose of the NAT award is to provide traineeship support for licensed registered nurses enrolled as full-time students in an accredited graduate-level nurse anesthesia program.  Traineeship grants are awarded to accredited institutions that educate registered nurses to become nurse anesthetists and gives funding preference and special consideration to schools whose graduates work in areas that address rural, underserved and public health nursing needs. 

This announcement solicits applications for the Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP). The purpose of this program is to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty by providing funding to accredited schools of nursing.  The NFLP is designed to prepare and train qualified nurse educators to fill faculty vacancies and increase the number of trained nurses entering the workforce.  This goal is accomplished by supporting schools of nursing that prepare students to serve as nurse faculty. 

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) seeks input on the restructuring of the NIH grant application instructions. We invite comments from any interested parties. We encourage feedback from PD/PIs, Administrative Offices, Offices of Sponsored Programs, Systems Administrators, and any other parties that rely on our application submission information.

This Notice supersedes NOT-OD-15-024 about the NIH and AHRQ requirement for use of a new biosketch format and provides some latitude in the transition for those who have already been compiling biosketches for their large grant applications with deadlines in early in 2015. NIH and AHRQ encourages applicants to use the newly published biosketch format for all grant and cooperative agreement applications submitted for due dates on or after January 25, 2015, and will require use of the new format for applications submitted for due dates on or after May 25, 2015. Applicants may submit using the new biosketch format for due dates before January 25, 2015, if they wish.

These scholarships are available to AANP members currently enrolled in an accredited graduate school in pursuit of an advanced degree or certification AND scheduled to complete an eligible NP program in spring 2015. Applicants must be licensed as a registered nurse. Students may receive up to $2,500 in scholarships. Only completed applications will be accepted and reviewed.

The American Association for the History of Nursing, Inc (AAHN) initiated a grant program in 2008. The H 15 Grant, for faculty members and independent researchers; and the H 31 Pre-doctoral Grant, designed to encourage and support graduate training and historical research at the Master's and Doctoral levels. The deadline for all Grants is April 1. Only AAHN members are eligible to apply for these grants.

The Uniform Advantage-GNSA Scholarship Fund supports students who are seeking a master's or doctoral degree in nursing and are members of the Graduate Nursing Student Academy. It is an outstanding opportunity for exceptional midcareer health professionals and behavioral and social scientists with an interest in health and health care policy. Fellows participate in the policy process at the federal level and use that leadership experience to improve health, health care, and health policy.

The award program, which was created in 2004 to acknowledge nurses who have made a significant contribution to nursing education or practice through the development and/or adoption of a new technology, offers two prizes of $10,000 each, one to a nursing educator or a practicing nurse whose innovation leads to improved nursing education and student outcomes, and the other to a nurse educator or practicing nurse whose innovation leads to improved patient care and patient-care outcomes.

The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) invites applications to renew an ongoing NIDCD-supported cooperative agreement, the Conservation of Hearing Study (CHEARS).This study will allow continued assessment of preventable risk factors for hearing loss in two large, ongoing, longitudinal cohort studies, the Nurses' Health Studies I and II.
