The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is accepting applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2021 Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWD) Program. The purpose of this program is to assist students from disadvantaged backgrounds (including ethnic and racial minorities underrepresented among registered nurses) throughout the educational pipeline in becoming registered nurses. This purpose is accomplished by supporting diploma or associate degree registered nurses as they become baccalaureate-prepared registered nurses, and preparing practicing registered nurses for advanced nursing education.

CMF works to improve health care outcomes through grant funding of: * Programs and initiatives that improve patient safety and quality of care through education and training of health care professionals or through systems changes and improvements; * Pilot programs that are designed to reduce medical errors; and * Development and implementation of checklists and other tools to improve disease management and transitions in care. The 2021 focus area is fragmentation across care settings. Breakdowns in care from a fragmented healthcare system can lead to readmissions, missed diagnoses, medication errors, delayed treatment, duplicative testing and procedures, and reduction in quality of care leading to general patient and provider dissatisfaction. Healthcare organizations must collaborate with each other and decide how to transfer information about patients they share. For example, health information technology can help providers share information about their patients. Organizations must devise strategies to "close the loop" and ensure that providers are aware of and address actionable patient information, such as test results.

The Stephen I. Katz Early Stage Investigator Research Project Grant supports an innovative project that represents a change in research direction for an early stage investigator (ESI) and for which no preliminary data exist. Applications submitted to this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) must not include preliminary data. Applications must include a separate attachment describing the change in research direction.

This is an invitation for collaborative proposals which focus on addressing the challenges Primary Care Providers experience in serving Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities during pandemic and/or emergency situations. Proposals should use one of the following approaches: Educational materials: Develop additional educational resources related to pandemic and/or emergency response for Primary Care Providers who serve adults with I/DD Implementation: Supports implementation of models, i.e. projects that support community-based PCPs in providing care to adults with I/DD during pandemic and/or emergency situations Research: Supports regional or national research related to Primary Care Providers who serve adults with I/DD role during pandemic and emergency situations A secondary goal of this RFP is to foster new partnerships or significantly enhance existing partnerships between disability organizations, advocates, community organizations, and healthcare providers. Grants of up to $50,000 (each) for a 1-year period will be awarded.

This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the MCH Navigator Program. The purpose of this program is to serve as a learning portal of high-quality vetted, MCH Leadership Competency-based trainings and resources to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and capacity of the MCH workforce through online continuing education (CE) tailored to meet the needs of emerging and practicing MCH professionals. This program supports HRSA Strategic Plan 2019-2022 goals to improve access to quality health care and services, strengthen the health workforce, and improve health equity. The specific objectives of the MCH Navigator Program are to support the workforce by: (1) assessing and addressing the state of knowledge and skills in the MCH community; (2) increasing knowledge and skills of the MCH workforce and students; (3) providing access to high-quality, relevant, accessible trainings; (4) developing innovative website features and enhancements1; and (5) collaborating with state Title V, local public health staff, and key MCH organizations.

This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Leadership, Education, and Advancement in Undergraduate Pathways (LEAP) Training Program (formerly called MCH Pipeline Training Program). The purpose of the LEAP Program is to promote the development of a diverse and representative public health and health care workforce by recruiting undergraduate students from underserved or underrepresented backgrounds into MCH public health and MCH-related health professions in order to improve levels of representation, reduce health disparities, and increase access to health care for vulnerable and underserved MCH populations, including those from racially/ethnically diverse backgrounds. Few training programs currently focus on recruiting undergraduate students into MCH professions. The LEAP Program's unique focus on recruiting diverse undergraduate student cohorts fills a critical gap by building and maintaining a diversified workforce that is reflective of and prepared to address the distinct needs of MCH populations.

This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Rural Health Care Services Outreach Program (Outreach Program). The Outreach Program is a community-based grant program aimed towards promoting rural health care services by enhancing health care delivery to rural underserved populations in the local community or region. Through consortia of local health care and social service providers, communities can develop innovative approaches to challenges related to the specific health needs in rural areas that expand clinical and service capacity in rural communities. The overarching goals for the Outreach Program are to: * Expand the delivery of health care services to include new and enhanced services exclusively in rural communities; * Deliver health care services through a strong consortium, in which every consortium member organization is actively involved and engaged in the planning and delivery of services; * Utilize community engagement and evidence-based or innovative, evidence informed model(s) in the delivery of health care services; and * Improve population health, and demonstrate health outcomes and sustainability In addition to funding Outreach programs through the Regular Outreach track, in FY 21, FORHP will also afford applicants a unique opportunity to take part in a national effort that targets rural health disparities through a second track called the "Healthy Rural Hometown Initiative."

The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) will make strategic investments to support expanded opportunities for students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medical (STEMM) fields. The investments will directly impact the ability of the state of Ohio to educate and train students to meet Ohio's career and job opportunities today and tomorrow. Choose Ohio First provides scholarships to students in innovative academic programs developed by Ohio's two-year and four-year, public and private colleges and universities, along with their business partners. The scholarships connect students to work-based learning experiences and careers in STEMM fields in order to recruit and retain these students in Ohio. Choose Ohio First is part of a strategic effort to deepen Ohio's economic strength by increasing the talent pipeline for STEMM-related industries, including computer science, through degree and certificate completion.

Introducing the Johnson & Johnson Nurses Innovate QuickFire Challenge in COVID-19 Patient Care together with the  American Organization for Nursing LeadershipTM (AONL) and the Society of Nurse Scientists, Innovators, Entrepreneurs, & Leaders (SONSIEL). The American Cancer Society and Pfizer Global Medical Grants are collaborating to offer a new competitive grant opportunity focused on addressing systemic race-related barriers that contribute to disparities in outcomes among Black men and women with cancer.

This award provides funding support for experienced researchers with recognized productivity - either within or outside the eczema field - to conduct highly innovative, cutting-edge investigations related to eczema. Data from this award can then be used to seek additional, larger-scale funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) or other funding entities to build on these discoveries. Eczema Champion Research Grants facilitate trail-blazing research by established investigators who have built a life-long career in eczema research, as well as thought leaders from other areas of study that can bring additional new perspectives to the research forefront. This award also serves as a bridge for previous successful NEA Catalyst Research Award recipients by providing a funding mechanism to stay in the eczema research field and strengthen their research program and commitment to advancing our understanding of this serious disease. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) aims to support research to strengthen the healthcare response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and future public health emergencies, including pandemics. While research related to the direct clinical effects of COVID-19 are supported by other funding opportunities, the purpose of this funding opportunity is to focus on the role and impact of digital health interventions [e.g., mobile health (mhealth), telemedicine and telehealth, health information technology (IT), and wearable devices] to address access, reach, delivery, effectiveness, scalability and sustainability of health assessments and interventions for secondary effects (e.g., behavioral health or self-management of chronic conditions) that are utilized during and following the pandemic, particularly in populations who experience health disparities and vulnerable populations.

The Laura Bassi Scholarship was established by Editing Press in 2018 with the aim of providing editorial assistance to postgraduates and junior academics whose research focuses on neglected topics of study, broadly construed, within their disciplines.

The HPNF Certification Research Grant is intended to provide investigators with resources to conduct exploratory, pilot or feasibility studies that will lead to larger scale projects linking certification with patient outcomes. Examples include collecting preliminary data about the distribution of certification qualifications among staff of different types of organizations or examining datasets from health care systems for patterns of staffing and outcomes. One grant of up to $15,000 will be awarded annually. Proposals for 2020 are due on or before July 1st. The funding date is September 1, 2020.

We encourage innovators to submit potentially ground-breaking ideas in perinatal care, including a particular interest in the following areas:  - Consumer Healthcare  - Community Health Approaches - Health Technologies  - Medical Devices  - Patient Care - Pharmaceuticals - Cross-sector Initiatives   Priority will be given to science-based potential innovations backed by data.  Applications that clearly describe a concept or path forward to achieve these goals will also be considered during evaluation. The goal of the Maternal Health QuickFire Challenge is to discover solutions aimed to help mothers survive and prevent adverse consequences from pregnancy and childbirth.  These potential solutions should be meet the below outlined criteria. The submitted potential solution must be either be pioneering or evidence based. Please provide data supporting the theory of change or the intervention accordingly.
