In November 2018, the Moore Foundation announced its Diagnostic Excellence Initiative with a focus on diagnostic performance improvement. The initiative aims to reduce harm from erroneous or delayed diagnoses, reduce costs and redundancy in the diagnostic process, improve health outcomes and save lives. The initiative's first area of focus is to develop and validate new measures for diagnostic performance. Examples of our first cohort of grants for diagnostic clinical quality measures are now available for review. Starting with measure development is important - currently, U.S. health care systems are unable to systemically measure diagnostic performance in real time, which limits the ability to quantify performance and guide improvements. 

In an effort to support cardiovascular quality and performance improvement, the ACC provides funding opportunities that support future cardiovascular quality initiatives (QI) or performance improvement (PI), particularly those that highlight the importance of accreditation. Funding to support these projects is made possible by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC), which was a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the care and outcomes of patients worldwide with suspected acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation through innovative cross-disciplinary processes. Its merger with the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF) in 2016 provided an opportunity to leverage the accreditation strength of the SCPC into the large portfolio of services the ACCF offers. To preserve the legacy of the SCPC, an endowment was created to support future cardiovascular QI or PI, particularly those efforts that highlight the importance of accreditation. Focus areas of desired projects or proposals include those that support cardiovascular quality improvement of cardiovascular care and patient outcomes that: contribute to the evidence base for accreditation develop or evaluate cardiovascular quality initiatives that strengthen the accreditation process provide opportunities for education that support quality or performance improvement projects improve EMS systems of care in collaboration with community hospitals providing accreditation services provide public health education to improve community measures/outcomes related to early recognition of heart attack symptoms and appropriate action steps

We encourage innovators to submit potentially ground-breaking ideas in perinatal care, including a particular interest in the following areas:  - Consumer Healthcare  - Community Health Approaches - Health Technologies  - Medical Devices  - Patient Care - Pharmaceuticals - Cross-sector Initiatives   Priority will be given to science-based potential innovations backed by data.  Applications that clearly describe a concept or path forward to achieve these goals will also be considered during evaluation. Please keep in mind that no idea is too big or too early for consideration. The goal of the Maternal Health QuickFire Challenge is to discover solutions aimed to help mothers survive and prevent adverse consequences from pregnancy and childbirth.  These potential solutions should be meet the below outlined criteria. The submitted potential solution must be either be pioneering or evidence based. Please provide data supporting the theory of change or the intervention accordingly. Submitted ideas must meet at least three of the below criteria: - Actionable - is the project achievable? - Measurable in terms of health impact - Filling a current data gap - Proven sustainability or strong rationale for a sustainable business model - Scalable

LEO Foundation 'Open competition grants' are given to support the best dermatology research projects worldwide. Through this RFP it is our intent to support patient-focused programs that help patients and providers address the heightened medical and educational needs of patients with PI during this pandemic. Priority will be awarded to projects that leverage the utilization of innovative technology platforms for distant learning to reach the intended audience with a focus on patient outreach, medical support and telework.

The purpose of the NIH Mentored Research Scientist Development Award (K01) is to provide support and protected time (three to five years) for an intensive, supervised career development experience in the biomedical, behavioral, or clinical sciences leading to research independence. Although all of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs) use this support mechanism to support career development experiences that lead to research independence, some ICs use the K01 award for individuals who propose to train in a new field or for individuals who have had a hiatus in their research career because of illness or pressing family circumstances. Other ICs offer separate K01 FOAs intended to increase research workforce diversity.

The NIH Exploratory/Developmental Grant supports exploratory and developmental research projects by providing support for the early and conceptual stages of these projects. These studies may involve considerable risk but may lead to a breakthrough in a particular area, or to the development of novel techniques, agents, methodologies, models, or applications that could have a major impact on a field of biomedical, behavioral, or clinical research.

The purpose of the NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) program is to increase and maintain a strong cohort of new and talented, NIH-supported, independent investigators. This program is designed to facilitate a timely transition of outstanding postdoctoral researchers with a research and/or clinical doctorate degree from mentored, postdoctoral research positions to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. The program will provide independent NIH research support during this transition in order to help awardees to launch competitive, independent research careers.

This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Rural Telementoring Training Center (RTTC) Program. The purpose of this program is to train academic medical centers and other centers of excellence (COEs) to create or expand technology-enabled collaborative learning and capacity building models (such as Project ECHO, ECHO-like models, and other emerging models in the field). The RTTC will develop and share freely accessible tools and resources that are adaptable to culturally and regionally diverse populations to provide training nationwide to facilitate the dissemination of best practice specialty care to primary care providers and care teams in rural and underserved areas. This cooperative agreement aligns with HRSA's goals of fostering a health care workforce to address current and emerging needs, improving access to quality health services, achieving health equity, and enhancing population health. This RTTC's focus is to train and support academic medical centers and other centers of excellence to provide technology-enabled telementoring that will ultimately better equip the health care workforce in rural communities to meet critical demands while improving access to health care.

Through the program, grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 will be awarded to beginning and experienced nurse researchers in support of studies that contribute toward the advancement of nursing science and the enhancement of patient outcomes. The foundation welcomes applications in a number of strategic areas, including nursing leadership/management, the health of nurses, African-American nurses, credentialing, clinical care, psychiatric/mental health, women's health, gerontology, and social policy. The foundation strongly encourages overlapping areas of study.

The NEPQR-SET program aims to enhance to enhance nurse education and strengthen the nursing workforce through the expansion of experiential learning opportunities, including the use of simulation-based technology, including equipment, to advance the health of patients, families, and communities in rural and medically underserved areas experiencing diseases and conditions that affect public health such as: high burden of stroke, heart disease, behavioral and mental health, maternal mortality, HIV/AIDS and or obesity.

With the goal of improving patient care in hospitals, clinics, homes, and communities, the Rita and Alex Hillman Foundation supports nurse-led healthcare innovation and research. Drawing on our collective knowledge of the unique and important role played by nurses, the foundation believes it has valuable insights with respect to relevant modes of research and alternative models that can lead to more equitable patient-centered health care. To that end, the foundation welcomes applications for its Emergent Innovation Program, which seeks to accelerate the development of bold nursing-driven interventions targeting the needs of vulnerable populations. Through the program, grants of $50,000 will be awarded in support of early-stage (pre-evidence or untested) innovations that address health and healthcare problems in new ways.

To that end, it is inviting applications to its Sigma Global Nursing Research Grant program. Through the program, a single grant of up to $10,000 will be awarded in support of nurse-driven, cross-country research (at least two countries) focused on responses to global health disparities.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement invites applications to conduct patient-oriented clinical research studies designed to develop strategies to mitigate health disparities in people with one or more chronic diseases or conditions within the mission of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). Populations of interest include those disproportionately burdened with multiple chronic conditions and/or disparities in social, behavioral and/or biological risk factors. Only studies that involve interaction with human participants will be considered appropriate for this FOA.

The objectives of the Lifespan Respite Technical Assistance and Resource Center (TARC) is to provide technical assistance to the Lifespan Respite Program grantees and the field. The primary objectives of this funding opportunity are: (1) further identify, develop, and disseminate training and TA resources to ACL's Lifespan Respite Program grantees (past, present and future) that address the role of respite as a means to supporting families in their own development of natural supports; (2) strengthen the national capacities at the federal, state and local levels to provide respite services as an essential family support across the age and disability spectrum; and (3) support activities and innovations to develop an evidence base for respite care and related services.

Purpose The purpose of the Sigma/Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation End of Life Nursing Care research grant is to encourage qualified nurses to contribute to the advancement of nursing care through research. Proposals for pilot and/or developmental research may be submitted for the grant. Research Funding Funds for this grant are provided jointly by Hospice and Palliative Nurses Foundation End of Life Nursing Care and Sigma Foundation for Nursing. Funds for this grant do not cover expenses incurred prior to the funding date.

The purpose of the Sigma/Association of Nurses in AIDS Care Grant research grant is to encourage research career development of nurses through support of clinically oriented HIV/AIDS research and increase the number of HIV studies being done by nurses. This includes studies focused on HIV prevention, symptom management, promotion of self-care and adherence. Proposals for pilot and/or developmental research may be submitted for the grant.

Clinical Scholars is a three-year, team-based program for a wide variety of health professionals in community, clinical, or academic settings. By the end of the program, fellows will have gained the skills they need to appraise, synthesize, use the best evidence to guide practice and inform policy in addressing complex health problems in their teams, organizations, and communities. We are seeking up to 35 individuals (in teams of three to five) with the potential to become national change leaders in their focus areas and a demonstrated long-term commitment to fostering and achieving health equity.
