    The NIDCR-funded FaceBase data repository and knowledgebase (www.facebase.org) was established to advance craniofacial research by creating comprehensive datasets on craniofacial development and dysmorphologies and disseminating them to the wider craniofacial research community. Since FaceBase's inception, the data management and integration hub has been charged with the critical functions of collecting datasets and analytic tools developed by dataset-generating spoke projects, curating and integrating those resources, and disseminating them. This Request for Applications (RFA) is a limited competition for renewal applications for the Data Management and Integration Hub. As in the past, the FaceBase 3 hub will continue to be responsible for integration and presentation of existing FaceBase datasets, development or adoption of new approaches for data search and visualization, and outreach to the wider craniofacial research community. In addition, the hub will assume an important new mission that of working with investigators within the craniofacial research community to make their datasets compatible with FaceBase's data models, curating and integrating these new datasets with those already held by FaceBase.

    The mission of the American Association on Health and Disability is to contribute to national, state, and local efforts to promote health and wellness in people with disabilities and identify effective intervention strategies that reduce health disparities between people with disabilities and the general population. AAHD accomplishes its mission through research, education, and advocacy at the national, state, and community levels. To that end, the AAHD Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability is awarded annually to deserving students with a disability who are pursuing undergraduate/graduate studies (at least a sophomore in college) at an accredited university in an area related to health and disability, including but not limited to public health, health promotion, disability studies, disability research, rehabilitation engineering, audiology, disability policy, special education, or other majors that impact quality of life for persons with disabilities. Scholarships of up to $1,000 will be awarded in late January/early February 2019. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled full time as an undergraduate (freshman or beyond) or part or full time in graduate school, have a documented disability, and be able provide documentation of their disability. (Applicants who have not yet graduated from high school will not be considered.) In addition, applicants must be a citizen or legal resident of the United States enrolled in an accredited U.S. university. Preference will be given to students majoring in public health, disability studies, disability research, health promotion, or a field related to disability and health.

    ACL intends to award up to five (5) Paralysis Resource Center (PRC) State Pilot Program grants designed to enhance the capacity of community disability-based programming by improving and/or increasing the services and supports provided by community-based disability organizations that are working to improve the quality of life for individuals living with paralysis, their families, and their caregivers. Grantees funded under this three year announcement will make subawards to community-based organizations across their states that provide long-term services and supports to people living with paralysis. All activities funded under this grant will promote greater independence, equality, choice, and control for individuals living with paralysis and to help them more fully integrate into their communities. Under a separate 2018 funding opportunity announcement, ACL will also award funds for a National Paralysis Resource Center (NPRC).
