David Willetts MP, the Global Innovation Initiative is a higher education partnership grant opportunity established between the United States and the United Kingdom aimed at strengthening multilateral research collaborations between universities in the U.S., UK, and other selected countries. The Global Innovation Initiative will award grants to university consortia focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-related issues of global significance that foster cutting-edge multinational research and strengthen institutional international partnerships

Google Research Awards are one-year awards structured as unrestricted gifts to universities to support the work of world-class full-time faculty members at top universities around the world. Faculty members can apply for Research Awards by submitting a proposal to one of our two 2014 funding rounds. Our 2014 deadlines are April 15 and October 15. Recipients are selected through a comprehensive internal review process and notified of their awards within 4 months of the initial submission. Faculty members can apply for up to 150,000 USD in eligible expenses, but actual award amounts are frequently less than the full amount requested. Most awards are funded at the amount needed to support basic expenses for one graduate student for one year. SRP Center grants will support problem-based, solution-oriented research Centers that consist of multiple, integrated projects representing both the biomedical and environmental science and engineering disciplines; as well as cores tasked with administrative, community engagement, research translation, training, and research support functions.

The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) announces the availability of funds for Administrative Supplements to NIGMS-funded R01, R37, P01, and U01 grants.  These funds are intended for the purchase of single pieces of equipment whose requested direct costs are between $50,000 and $250,000. Equipment in this price range is often difficult to purchase under the parent grant.  Two or more NIGMS grantees at the same institution with similar equipment needs are encouraged to submit separate requests (each between $50,000 and $250,000) that cross-reference each other.  It is expected that the amount of funds requested for such joint purchases will reflect the actual proportion of the time that the shared equipment would be used by each PI.  NIGMS encourages requests that reflect institutional commitment.

USAID is making a special call for the submission of Concept Papers focused on advancing the success and achieving the goals of Power Africa. More specifically, Power Africa , USAID's Bureau for Africa, and other offices within USAID/Washington, and USAID Missions in sub-Saharan Africa countries, are seeking to engage with interested parties to develop activities or projects that can pool funds, talent, and resources from USAID, other government agencies, and private sector partners to support Power Africa.

This solicitation seeks proposals for the development and/or demonstration of new technologies and capabilities for small spacecraft by U.S. colleges and universities in collaboration with NASA. Projects may be for ground-based technology development or development of spacecraft or payloads for suborbital, balloon or orbital space flight technology demonstrations. Proposed projects must develop or demonstrate technologies or new capabilities for small spacecraft that support NASA's missions in science, exploration, space operations, or aeronautics. Proposals must address one of the following specific topics: Topic 1: Enhanced Power Generation and Storage, Topic 2: Cross-linking Communications Systems, Topic 3: Relative Navigation for Multiple Small Spacecraft, and Topic 4: Instruments and Sensors for Small Spacecraft Science Missions. Cooperative Agreements will be issued to the proposing college or university partner. The cooperative agreement award resulting from this appendix will be between NASA and the primary proposing U.S. college or university. Cost sharing is not required. Maximum period of performance is two years, with continuation to Year 2 contingent on progress achieved during Year 1 and the availability of funds. Participation is limited to U.S. college and university teams, including undergraduate and/or graduate students. Projects must include student participation. The Principal Investigator (PI) submitting the proposal shall be affiliated with a U.S. college or university. All proposals must be submitted electronically through NSPIRES by an Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR). RII Track-2 FEC builds interjurisdictional collaborative teams of EPSCoR investigators in scientific focus areas consistent with NSF priorities. Projects are investigator-driven and must include researchers from at least two RII- eligible jurisdictions with complementary expertise and resources necessary to tackle those projects, which neither party could address as well or rapidly alone. The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) research and education activities should seek to broaden participation through the strategic inclusion and integration of different types of individuals, institutions, and sectors throughout the project. Proposals must describe a comprehensive and integrated vision to drive discovery and build sustainable STEM capacity that exemplifies diversity of all types (individual, institutional, geographic, and disciplinary). The development of diverse early-career faculty is a critical component of this sustainable STEM capacity. For FY 2019, RII Track-2 FEC proposals are invited on a single topic: "Harnessing the Data Revolution to solve problems of national importance."

The purpose of this administrative supplement is to facilitate translational research partnerships between junior researchers with quantitative backgrounds (in engineering or computational or physical sciences) and junior clinician-scientists from active CTSA institutions (PAR-15-304, PAR-18-464). The supplement will support the quantitative researcher, the NIBIB Translational Research Scholar, contingent upon his/her collaborating with a clinician-scientist KL2 scholar, the "partnering clinician-scientist". The partnering clinician-scientist will be supported independently of this supplement through the parent KL2 award throughout the duration of the proposed supplement. Both team members will be selected by the KL2 PI. The KL2 PI will assist the NIBIB Translational Research Scholar and the partnering clinician-scientist in developing a translational research project aligned with NIBIBs research mission under the guidance of their identified basic and clinical/translational science mentors. Based on this project, the KL2 PI will submit a supplement request under this FOA.

The Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure (OAC) supports translational research and education activities in all aspects of advanced cyberinfrastructure (CI) that lead to deployable, scalable, and sustainable systems capable of transforming science and engineering research. Advanced CI includes the spectrum of computational, data, software, networking, and security resources, tools, and services, along with the computational and data skills and expertise, that individually and collectively can transform science and engineering. OAC supports advanced CI research to address new CI frontiers for discovery leading to major innovations, and supports the development and deployment processes, as well as expert services, necessary for realizing the research CI that is critical to the advancement of all areas of science and engineering research and education.

EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ) is soliciting proposals nationwide for projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions in terms of tons of pollution produced by diesel engines and diesel emissions exposure, particularly from fleets located in areas designated as having poor air quality. Further, priority for funding may be given to projects which result in outcomes that benefit affected communities, those that engage affected communities with respect to the design and performance of the project, and those which can demonstrate the ability to promote and continue efforts to reduce emissions after the project has ended.

The NICS Improvement Amendments Act of 2007, Pub. L. 110-180 (NIAA or the Act), was signed into law on January 8, 2008, in the wake of the April 2007 shooting tragedy at Virginia Tech. The Virginia Tech shooter was able to purchase firearms from a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) because information about his prohibiting mental health history was not available to the NICS, and the system was therefore unable to deny the transfer of the firearms used in the shootings. The NIAA seeks to address the gap in information available to NICS about such prohibiting mental health adjudications and commitments, and other prohibiting factors. Filling these information gaps will better enable the system to operate as intended to keep guns out of the hands of persons

NIJ has a longstanding history of collaborating with, and supporting the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) on research, evaluation, and programmatic projects. Over the years, the shared priorities of OVC and NIJ have resulted in a number of collective projects, workshops, and research. In 2013, OVC identified a need for the development of research to build a body of evidence-based knowledge on victims and victimization across several areas of victim services.

The PRMRP Investigator-Initiated Research Award (IIRA) is intended to support studies that will make an important contribution toward research and/or patient care for a disease or condition related to at least one of the FY19 PRMRP Topic Areas. The rationale for a research idea may be derived from a laboratory discovery, population-based studies, a clinician's first-hand knowledge of patients, or anecdotal data.
