The International Congress for the History of Pharmacy is a biennial meeting of historians, pharmacists and other researchers and health professionals from around the world interested in the history of pharmacy and pharmaceuticals. This year's Congress is co-sponsored by AIHP and the International Society for the History of Pharmacy, and is supported by a generous grant from the United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP). The conference will be held in Washington, DC, at the Capital Hilton, on September 5-8, 2019. The theme of the Congress is "The Pharmacist and Quality Medicines." Four plenary lectures and more than 50 papers will focus on a broad range of topics related to all aspects of history of pharmacy and medicines, including the training and regulation of pharmacists and the social, scientific, technologic, and economic aspects of pharmaceuticals and the pharmaceutical industry. The conference will be of interest to scholars in the history of pharmacy and medicine and related fields. Plenary lectures will be given by noted historians William B. The purpose of this research project is to use medical and pharmacy claims data in real-time to: 1) identify HIV-infected patients who have stopped filling anti-retroviral (ARV) prescriptions and to target these individuals for adherence and retention intervention(s) (Category A); and 2) identify persons living with HIV (including pregnant women) and to ensure these individuals are receiving ARV therapy - Medical and Pharmacy Claims (Category B).

The purpose of this research is to investigate models for linking community pharmacists (e.g., independent, chain, franchise, mail order, retail) to primary care providers to enhance medication review and management in older adults, and examine the potential health benefits of primary care-pharmacy linkages.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ) mission is to produce evidence to make health care safer, higher quality, more accessible, equitable, and affordable, and to work within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and with other partners to make sure that the evidence is understood and used. AHRQ's Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQuIPS) is addressing patient safety and medication research by focusing on the safe usage of medications.  This perspective centers on how medications move through the health care system and how this systemic process can be improved so that patients are not harmed, while health care delivery is improved.  CQuIPS encourages the involvement of all members of the health care team, especially patients and families, nurses, pharmacists, technicians (pharmacy and medication administration technicians), health care administrators, risk managers, and physicians across all settings of care, including in the home. This FOA will fund investigative research demonstration projects that examine the effective implementation of processes, policies, and behaviors that support safe use of medication as well as its sustainment and dissemination.

This NOFO seeks to provide infrastructure support and technical assistance to Mozambican Ministry of Health (MOH) health clinics and facilities in order to scale-up HIV and TB services through PEPFAR. This NOFO will provide technical assistance to help address MOH infrastructure needs as well as providing overall alternative solutions to improving the health infrastructure either through renovations, pre-fabricated (pre-fab) structures, or equipment necessary for the improvement of HIV/AIDS and TB services across the clinical cascade. Sites for infrastructure support will be selected based on MOH and PEPFAR priorities. Health centers may require different infrastructure solutions which may include pre-fab structures for warehouses, pharmacies, laboratories, and medium-sized health units. Supported health facilities may be geographically dispersed throughout Mozambique and involve rural and urban areas. The accomplishment of these objectives will support the Government of Mozambique’s goal of promoting epidemic control through an increased facility maximum HIV patient capacity and will in turn facilitate the country’s HIV strategic goals.

The purpose of this funding opportunity is to conduct activities to promote and support vaccination services within the pharmacy setting. Activities include, but are not limited to: - Education/Outreach to pharmacists about current pediatric, adolescent, and adult immunization recommendations and proper vaccine administration - Facilitation of communication and exchange of information between pharmacists and providers and public health programs -Quality Improvement efforts -Improved immunization documentation through use of immunization information systems and data sharing -Coordination with public health preparedness and immunization programs to establish formalized agreements for pandemic vaccine program readiness and response By the end of the project, the awardee is expected to disseminate and promote best practices/successes to a national audience of healthcare providers, including both pharmacists and other healthcare providers.

ntiretroviral therapy has been recommended for all persons living with HIV since 2012. However, in 2014, among persons with diagnosed HIV infection, 57.9% of all persons were virally suppressed and 48.1% of youth were virally suppressed (https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/pdf/library/reports/surveillance/cdc-hiv-surveillance-supplemental-report-vol-22-2.pdf ). Insurers have information on clinical encounters which provide them with diagnoses codes. They also have information on pharmacy claims data and can assess if persons with a diagnosis of HIV are receiving antiretroviral (ARV) drugs.

The purpose of this FOA is to encourage mechanistic research to investigate the impact of sleep disturbances on pain. The mechanisms and processes underlying the contribution of sleep and sleep disturbances to pain perception and the development and maintenance of chronic pain may be very broad. This FOA encourages interdisciplinary research collaborations by experts from multiple fieldsneuroscientists, psychologists, endocrinologists, immunologists, geneticists, pharmacologists, chemists, physicists, behavioral scientists, clinicians, caregivers, and others in relevant fields of inquiry.
