not great fun but useful for teaching typing skills.

In this post I thought I would share some tutorials for the program done by my son, along with some of the projects he created with it. I hope this will give you some ideas for your own students on how to incorporate Animation-ish in your classroom. Kestrel had just turned 13 when I had him come teach my college class: Math For Elementary Teachers, how to use Animation-ish. He did an amazing job and my future teachers had their eyes opened to the fact that the students they will be teaching will have more computer skills than most of them!

his activity will be spread over at least a week. It combines skills from both the language and ICT programmes of study and is ideal for years 5 and 6. After introducing what an auction is, pupils produce a professional-looking auction catalogue and then hold their own auction with a bid limit of 50p. The spreadsheet is set up to automatically analyse and graph sales patterns in the auction. The session ends with an antiques quiz.

As one of the top free educational games sites on the web, you would probably expect Sheppard Software to have a strong representation here. Logic games, word games, puzzle games, and strategy games are just some of the great brain training tools on offer here. They activities themselves may not be quite as slick as some of the sites on here, but the skills involved will test young minds as much as anything else out there. Castle Defense is a perennial favorite, but Maze Race and Bouncing Balls are also worth a mention. The only drawback with these games is that they tend to be a little short and only offer one level.
