"Welcome to the Books Go Global space! We will use this space to share and post our multimedia book reviews so that everyone can enjoy them! We will be using VoiceThread to create our reviews, but are open to using different tools as the year progresses and new tools are developed.
Right now, this project is being conducted in English with fourth grade classes around the world, but we would love to open it up to other age ranges and languages over the course of the year. We are actively looking for more partners, so please feel free to sign up here! Once you've signed up, check out the teacher planning page to see how to get started."

"Wolfram Alpha is on a mission to develop an "app for every course." The company launched its first three subject-specific iPhone apps on Tuesday, and all three - Algebra, Calculus, and Music Theory - look to be promising educational tools.
The apps are based on Wolfram Alpha's computational search engine, which can do things like solve integration problems, calculate flying times between cities or plot a person's life on a timeline."
The Methods course that I am teaching this summer has just embarked on a short round of teaching practice classes. To help the teachers plan their first lesson, I pulled a few old favourites out of the drawer. They are roughly divided into those that have a mainly interpersonal function (such as forging a collaborative group dynamic) and those that are primarily diagnostic (identifying strengths, weaknesses, interests, and styles). Feel free to post variants, additions - or attributions (apart from the few I dreamed up myself, such as the star warmer, I have no idea who invented the rest).
It doesn't matter if you're a veteran teacher or a newbie just now taking college courses - finding new ways to get students engaged in the classroom is always a great thing. One way many teachers are reaching out is with the multitude of material found on the web, allowing them to turn everyday lessons into a multimedia experience.
