I work with refugees, and I see God's heart for them every day...there are answers to prayers here in our non-profit offices you wouldn't believe (or maybe you would!). I love the humor and honesty you write with. I will be praying for your family, that God wraps His arms of love around You and holds you tightly, and that you'll be enveloped by His peace in the midst of trials. The last year and 1/2 in our family has been quite the ride, and some of it nearly did me/us in emotionally (and physically). But we're coming out of it now, and I can see how faithful He was, and is...in the smallest details. Welcome to the High Calling network. Let us know how we can serve and encourage you. Mark, I just wrote a bit about resurrection and Mary/Martha in my last post. "Jesus wept" is such a powerful verse, especially because of its context. This is such a well-written, evocative post. I love the detail. You really "took me there." I grew up in a non-liturgical tradition but as I mature (ahem...get older), I've begun to really appreciate the symbolism and ceremony which other denominations use in their worship. I think it's beautiful, and as a writer, I like the symbolism. So, thanks! And welcome to the High Calling! We're glad to have you aboard, and look forward to many more interactions.
