New "faith" member. Hi Julie, This post echoes some of what I've felt this year. Well, not that there haven't been challenges, to be sure. But that in the midst of it all, life, God, is good. And yes, there are bumps in the road, but in the grand scheme of things, this is not our home. Welcome to The High Calling!

New CULTURE member. When I was in the middle of my divorce, my good friend often said to me, "God doesn't waste any of our pain." And you know what? She was right! Welcome to The High Calling!

I love that--the right job is out there, waiting for her. Amen! :) I also love Jer. 29:11. It has been a lifeline for me so often when things "look" out of control. Thanks for your honesty, and sharing your journey with us at the High Calling. Welcome!

It's easy to get in the "why me?" mode when things don't go our way. I'm glad you were able to shift your perspective to see how God might use circumstances to refine His character in you. You're right-God asks us to be faithful and take the next step. I've often said that our walk of faith is a "flashlight, not floodlight" existence.
