I love the way you captured the strain and stress of married life. And I like this especially: This beast loves undivided attention. getting taken on adventures, being held in embrace. These things soothe her, make her more manageable.
It is so true-that without Christ, we wouldn't have a prayer (literally!). :) Thanks for this, and for joining The High Calling Network.
Janet, first, welcome to The High Calling. I'm so glad you've joined our blog network. I love the look, writing and theme of your site and will look forward to reading more of it in the days/weeks to come. Second, how fun to read your story! My hubby and I-we've been married 16 years in July-met in a touring group (a 2-year commitment, after which I almost had to be committed!) of young adults, dated on the road, and got married right after the tour ended. We, too, were poor graduate student newlyweds with a roach-infested apt. and a grocery budget that had a huge line item for "PRAY!" I'd love to have coffee sometime and swap ministry-life stories, but since I'm in TX and you're in CA, I guess we'll have to settle for visiting one another's blogs. :) Have a great weekend, and again, thanks for joining THC!
New "faith" member.
Hi Julie,
This post echoes some of what I've felt this year. Well, not that there haven't been challenges, to be sure. But that in the midst of it all, life, God, is good. And yes, there are bumps in the road, but in the grand scheme of things, this is not our home.
Welcome to The High Calling!
