This website helps to assist teachers in finding example lesson plans for their subject matter.  The site also allows students to search and find a teacher for their instrument.  I would benefit from the lesson plans feature particularly for music theory.

The Music Educators National Conference helped to develop national standards for band programs that have been accepted by the United States Department of Education.

This is a fun website/tool where woodwind players/students can create their own fingering chart.  It is also another way to assess students on knowing their fingerings for their instrument.  There are a number of ways to change the chart in size and color.  

Here is a great video from CNN that highlights the benefits of being a part of a music program.  Many have done studies whether or not music affects a student's brain.  This is a great video to show students and parents along with administration to strengthen the program you already have.  Too many schools are doing away with the arts and it cannot happen!

The Library of Congress has a plethora of information and media related to music education. Within the archives of the Library of Congress are recordings of folk songs, articles about music in America, and podcasts. One of these podcast collections is about Music and the Brain where research related to music and how it affects the brain is reviewed and discussed. This is an excellent resource for music advocacy. It is also a great resource for better understanding music learning.

Pizzicato Music Education software has something for everyone.  Prices range from $69 euros to $899 euros depending on individual purchase to the number of students in your population.

Drum corp is something that many high school students dream of becoming a part of.  Many students in marching bands around the world dream to become a DCI champion.  Vic Firth teamed up with the Cadets and have made videos with the music from their 2015 production, "The Power of 10" featuring the selection "Waltz".  Students can play along whether they are in the front ensemble, snare line, bass line, or tenor line.

Music performance anxiety is something that troubles many musicians from students all the way up to adults.  There are many coping skills and techniques that can help with this anxiety.  One of the most common techniques is the Alexander Technique, which is talked about in this article.

A program that is built from the teacher's perspective, Music Prodigy provides students with an area to practice, using a built-in metronome.  Assessment is also available in this program.  As its name implies, you will build musical prodigies.

Groovy Jungle is a Sibelius software specifically for teaching music to small children.  It is available through musicians friend.com website.

A collection of music education software, as well as furniture, equipment, recording software and other special features.  Books and percussion are also included.

NAfME has provided lesson plan examples for band that implement the new Core Music Standards.  Included is a list of resources of videos, FAQs, workbooks, guides, etc.  You need your NAfME information to access these materials.

The most user-friendly music notation software on the market.  Its output is worth the price.  With add-ons like Avid Scorch, you can practice and/or perform using your iPad.

This website provides lessons, exercises, and other tools pertaining to music theory. The exercises are especially useful for students to practice their music theory outside of the classroom/studio.

Practice Spot offers free downloads, tools, and also items for purchase. Some of the free downloads include manuscript paper and music note reading worksheets. There is also a rhythm generator within the website to help with sight-reading practice. The website also includes articles about practice and downloadable certificates for congratulating students who completed some of the programs available. This is an excellent resource for helping students in and out of class.

forScore is a great way to get rid of hard copies and folders of music and see it on your iPad.  Many accompanists have moved to this way of keeping their music.  If you did not know about this check it out.  It is a very useful tool.  I have used it myself on certain occasions.
