This website is specific for music educators in Massachusetts, like myself. It contains information on news and events happening in music education, in or near Massachusetts. It provides links and contact information for initiatives, such as advocacy, and mentorship. It also provides resources for various professional development opportunities, as well as lists music education job openings in the area.

The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra Kids website is a fun interactive website for students that allows for students to discover, listen, play, perform, conduct, and compose music through interactive activities and games.

Such a great website with tons of resources for music education. There are interactive games for development of rhythm, composition, and note naming skills, as well as loads of information on composers, music professions, and music time periods.You can also access some prominent compositions for students to listen to, as well as activity sheets for your students to complete based on a composer, or genre of music.

This composition site through Classics for Kids gives two levels of composing- beginner and advanced. A great variety of notes to be used (there are dotted rhythms in the advanced level), and students can drag the notes/rests easily to where they'd like to on the staff. This site is great for teaching composition, beats, time signature, treble clef staff and notes.

This is a wonderful, interactive website appropriate for grade levels Kindergarten through 5th grade, with "Jam Sessions" on various genres in music. It uses videos and interactive games to teach students about the instruments, rhythms, and lyrics often used in that particular genre. Genres include hip-hop, country, salsa, reggae, jazz, blues, classical, and rock and roll.
