This is one of the useful music theory website available for educators to use in class to assist in teaching basic music theory. The site includes articles, tutorials, and references for teaching music theory.

Through this site, students can engage in a variety of music theory or aural skills activities. Using the program's interface, one can engage with activities such as melodic, harmonic, two-part, and rhythmic dictation as well as chord analysis. It uses a click-drag method to assign notes and/or pitches to an exercise.

This is a great resource for teaching AP Music theory. It contains harmonic and melodic dictation and listening exercises, and contextual listening. Unfortunately, it is no longer completely free.

This site serves as a practice tool for students of music theory, ear training, or general music. The site includes recordings for use in interval identification, rhythmic dictation, chord identification, and a variety of other ear training concepts. This would be an excellent resource for teachers who wish to provide their students with practical experience in ear training via technology. Students could practice at home or in a computer lab.

The College Board's AP Music Theory homepage is an invaluable resource for AP Music Theory test preparation. It contains resources for both teachers and students, including descriptions of the course, articles about teaching AP Music Theory, score reports, and a listing of professional development opportunities and seminars. Most importantly, it contains an archive of past free-response test questions (including both harmonic and melodic dictations) and sight-singing examples, along with (scored and annotated) example responses.

Excellent FREE ear-training software, as part of the GNU project. While there is little/no support from the website admin anymore, it provides a smooth and easy way to: -Recognize, compare and sing intervals -Identify & sing chords and specific chord tones -Rhythmic and melodic dictation (The "basics" of Auralia and other paid ear-training software, without the pretty interface).

This is a simple, yet effective free online interactive software for ear training. It offers practice tools in: intervals, chords, scales, chord progressions, perfect pitch, scale degrees (functional), intervals in context, an melodic dictation.

This website is perfect for listening exercises. The interval practice was very appropriate and the difficulty can even be adjusted based on the level of the student. I would like to use this site with my after-school chorus.

Teoria is a Music Theory website (similar to musictheory.com) that offers step-by-step instructions on a wide variety of music theory concepts. The quizzes are helpful in assessing students in their understanding of theory concepts and allow the teacher to edit the types of questions on the quiz, the time limits, and the opportunity to correct the answers.

This website is a great tool for students to work on their music theory and ear training skills. Students can work individually on this website to complete different exercises and review music theory concepts.
