"National Archives Today's Document feed is a good place to find primary source documents to spark discussion in your classroom. Everyday Today's Document features a new image or document from the archives. The documents are usually accompanied by some additional research links and lesson plan resources."

"There are currently close to 300 documents in this searchable collection which includes such works as The Battles in the Jerseys by William Clinton Armstrong and the Report on a Survey of Administration and Expenditures of the State Government of New Jersey, with Recommendations of Economies for the Fiscal Year 1933-34 by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs (Princeton University). Search results allow a user to go to the page of a document which contains the search term or phrase. This new initiative on the part of Kean University is an effort to meet the scholarly needs of the people of New Jersey and beyond by creating a digital resource that provides access to user-friendly access to the full text of documents on New Jersey history."

Phenomenal resource for studying the history of NJ using primary documents

recently published set of declassified historical documents. There are 73 collections of documents containing memos and transcripts of communications between diplomats and country leaders. There are collections of documents organized by themes and topics including those  related to the construction of the Berlin Wall, the origins of the Cold War, and Sino-Soviet relations.

The Kean University Library online database that houses the publications of non-profit organizations which focus on New Jersey public policy issues. This collection allows users to access these documents from one centralized, easy to use location. The texts of the documents are fully searchable and are catalogued with subject headings similarly to a book in a library. This collection allows users to access a variety of publications pertaining to economic growth, education, social justice, health care, and criminal justice. This fully searchable database is compiled of files derived from a variety of non-profit organizations from across the state of New Jersey in an effort to provide information on policy reform and solutions for researchers and the public as a whole to make use of.

The Digital Vaults offers three good tools that students and teachers can use to create content using images and documents from the National Archives. The National Archives Digital Vault poster and video creation tools allow students to drag and drop digital artifacts into a poster or video. The National Archives provides images, documents, and audio in an easy to use editor. When making a poster students can combine multiple images, change background colors, and create captions to make collages of digital artifacts. Website from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation to showcase some primary source materials about Abraham Lincoln online. The materials on Under His Hat are arranged into eight sections about Lincoln's life. You can click on materials to make them larger. Lesson plan suggestions are included and some of the documents are also accompanied by audio and video recordings.

The National Archives, through its National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), has entered into a cooperative agreement with The University of Virginia Press to create this site and make freely available online the historical documents of the Founders of the United States of America. "Through this website, you will be able to read and search through thousands of records from George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison and see firsthand the growth of democracy and the birth of the Republic."

"The University of Maryland, Baltimore County has an excellent resource for history teachers. The UMBC Assessment Resource Center for History offers sample assessments based on readings from six eras in U.S. history. The assessments include multiple choice question and performance tasks based on close reading exercises. The performance task assessments include scoring rubrics, sample responses from students, and the documents that students need in order to complete the performance tasks."
