Sibelius is a music editor software that gives music students, composers, and songwriters a platform to write, play and publish music notations. Sibelius is ideal tool for music students and teachers.
Sibelius is used to construct professional and perfectly aligned notes. Sibelius allows users to write music, transcribe audio, share notations, scan and print music sheets.
The software is adaptable and flexible. Students and teachers can import music from other programs such as iTunes and connect to several sites such as Facebook and Youtube. Sibelius also is capable of using Midi instruments.
Sibelius insists on being the fastest, smartest and easiest software around (http://www.sibelius.com/products/sibelius/7/index.html). Students easily write music by creating your own musical score and there are several templates already in place.

This is an online platform for educators and students with the technology to create GLOGS - online multimedia posters - with text, photos, videos, graphics, sounds, drawings, data attachments and more.
This would allow students to display knowledge and skills to create multimedia projects. It allows students to use animations, web cams, audio, attachments and blogs in the creation of their projects. It also has a feature that allows students to share their work with particular individuals or social networks. A subscription to this tool is as cheap as $10 for a whole year. They have other levels for pricing as well.
This is a neat way to organize links to videos and websites and access them in the Cloud. This can act as a bookmarking tool.
You can create a Symbaloo for your students that houses links for research, tools for formating, and helpful sites for assignments.
This type of site takes the "Google it" mentality out of the equation; you provide the links to where you want to direct students when they engage with the technology. This site could be applicable for any grade level or any discipline.

With Splashtop software I am able to access my laptop through my iPad. This software allows me to move freely around my classroom and instruct. In our health lessons I am able to display our power points or access online resources on my computer from my iPad. It also has a tool called whiteboard, which allows me to draw, highlight, circle, or point out different things that are displayed on my screen. This could really come in handy when we talk about different muscles in the body and allow me to really point out a specific muscle. This is a great resource for a teacher, but unfortunately is not free.
The Khan Academy is a free online resource for learners to access over 3,000 videos. Since the video tutorials are short, the content keeps even the most distracted student's attention. Working at a Community college, many students entering are required to take academic placement test in math and english. The math assessment seems to be the most fustrating among students. This site has interactive quizzes to assist in preparation and or to identify where the deficiency is for students. Students are advised to review the content prior to completing the assessments and to help as they matriculate throughout their required math courses.
This is a great resource for French teachers (it is no part of my DAP - it is just a blog I want to share with my peers) : a lot of recorded conversations up to level B2 to work on listening skills. Scripts are available as well.

This site offers fun, interactive phonics tutorials with activities are designed to work on specific skills. Students can use this in the classroom or at home.
PebbleGo is an early childhood research base for young children learning to read. Information is child friendly and includes many pictures and videos to enrich student learning. PebbleGo has a read aloud feature that allows text to be read to the audience, if necessary. It also has online games relating to topics on PebbleGo and printable resources. This resource requires login information and can be purchased as a subscription by an entire school.
Pebble Go is an excellent online resource for student reserach. This site is divided up by category of science, social studies, and biographies. Students use this interactive website to learn about different academic content areas. For each topic, readings, videos, games, and audio recordings are provided. This allows students of all ability levels to be able to access the information and understand the content. My students love this site as it is a great starting point for any reserach project!
This new PBS site includes not only lesson plans, but also different kinds of media, including the following:

4. Interactives
5. Videos
PBS has just recently opened this site, which allows educators to download video to their own computers or to play the file (full-screen if desired). Educators need to set up a free account in order to download files.
Even if you are not a fan of PBS, the teacher resources offered by PBS are extensive and encompass most content areas. Users can search by grade, content area, and topic.
