PebbleGo is a great resource and database for students to read and learn all about a variety of topics. This website includes audio, video, text highlighting, and text features to teach students all about many topics. It is very kid-friendly and easy to navigate. My first grade students use it for researching a topic to write about for their informational writing unit. Also, if they are reading about a topic and want to learn more, they simply hop on and explore. For struggling readers, it is great because it can read to students.

Stride Academy is a website where students can learn with an engaging curriculum to match the depth of their own personal knowledge. With this program, teachers are able to pick specific standards for students to work on. Students pick either reading, math, or writing to start with. They will then be asked various questions based on the standards chosen and the questions will be adjusted to them as they go. Students earn coins for answering correctly. When they have reached a certain amount they get to play a 60 second game of their choosing. The data from each students is sent to the teacher daily. With this they can see specifically which standard they need to focus on for that student. This helps for teacher to plan small group instruction.

Raz-Kids is an online website where students can access reading resources that are set to their specific guided reading level. Students have the option to either read or listen to a story of their choice. When they are finished they are given comprehension quizzes that test all major reading comprehension skills. Students can earn stars for the score and spend them in the Rocket Room which can be opened by the teacher. This program is really great because students can explore all kinds of texts that are perfect for them. By assessing their comprehension, teachers are able to see areas where students struggle and assign them assignments to focus and work on those specific areas.
