My father has been playing bridge online. He is one of the late adopters to technology, yet, he plays bridge for hours and hours without realising what is happening around himself. He has played bridge online for 6000 hours since 2007. I just asked him "why are you playing", he said, "because I have fun" and "because it is challenging" and "I get points". Well, he just covered the flow theory and games :)
The six c's of motivation are listed as: choice, challenge, control, collaboration, constructing meaning, and consequences and explained with examples. It is nice and easy to keep in mind.
Actually, I really like the last verses of him; I am pretty tired, I think I'll go home now:) Because that is the way I feel when I really get tired of doing something even if the activity is in my flow channel :)
I really liked your share on this movie. This made me think of some example movies, in Dekalog 1 movie, there was this little boy who continually asked questions on life's big issues, trying to figure out meaning. His learning motivation was so high, maybe that can be an additional example :)
Kiewslovski movie! I especially like the scene when father and son calculate whether the son could skate safely or not. He has a great deal of curiosity and father leads his motivation via scientific methods;)
I guess everyone of us played that game with a very clear goal: to save the princess! There was a hidden power which kept us hours and hours playing that game, now we now what it is: Flow! :)
That is the image Csikszentmihalyi showed and talked about it and I totally agree that the danger zone is "apathy" Most of the teachers should have experienced lots of problems with their students as they have apahty.

Could Montesorri design be sustainable with ADHD Students?
* Mix and match the components of Flow;
* Keep the user's experience within the user's Flow
Zone;
* Offer adaptive choices, allowing different users to
enjoy the Flow in their own way; and
* Embed choices inside the core activities to ensure
the Flow is never interrupted.
This is a study conducted in Turkey for adapting a scale on Cognitive Absorption. As I understand it is a concept that takes into account absorption, cognitive engagement and flow as a framework. I wonder what other concepts might there be, that takes flow theory as a base, can be good to highlight.
