It is a currently presented a paper based on a dissertation completed by Gokce Kurt currently at Marmara University, Dept. of English Language Teaching, Istanbul, Turkey. Paper was presented at the meeting of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education, New Orleans, LA. It examines the TPACK development of Turkish PTs of English as they participated into a study explicitly focusing on the framework of TPACK and designed following Learning Technology by Design approach.

Türkiye'nin OECD ülkeleri arasında eğitime en az pay ayrılan ülke olduğunu belirten Yıldıran, öğretmenlerin aldığı ücretlerle ilgili şaşırtan rakamlar verdi. Yıldıran, "Kadrolu öğretmenler ülkemizde yılda ortalama 22 bin euro maaş alıyor, bu 1700 euro gibi aylık maaşa karşılık geliyor" dedi.

En büyük sorun itibar kaybı :(

Teachers are the ones we always put blame on!!! They don't prepare students very well for the university entrance exam, they don't implement the curriculum effectively, they resist innovation, changes etc. In Turkey, teaching is mostly a profession of last choice. Losing reputation is not a problem, it is a result. Restoring it can not be done by increase in wages, providing facilities for them etc. When education becomes a prior area for all of us, teacher's reputation will be restored then, I think.

I really liked the tables organized for different activity types like knowledge building activities, convergent knowledge expression activities and so on. They give big implications for practice.
