Here are some interesting points; Jean Lave argues that situated learning does not need to be authentic always because there is algebra. Also she says that the situation must have cognitive complexity. She points that social networks can be used to enable learning environment.

I haven't read this book before, but as I understand from the book review, it worth to be read. I suggest you to watch this review for understanding the relationship between challenge and skill better.

Dr Kalyuga is a Professor at the School of Education, the University of New South Wales, where he has worked since 1995. His specific contributions include detailed experimental studies of the role of learner prior knowledge in learning (expertise reversal effect); the redundancy effect in multimedia learning; the development of rapid online diagnostic assessment methods; and studies of the effectiveness of different adaptive procedures for tailoring instruction to levels of learner expertise

This Documentary published by Discovery Channel for a while and actually can be a great example for situational learning! Basically they have to survive in a forest without any technology and clothes. Sometimes it is really fun to watch when they are trying to find a solution to eat or sleep.

Learning analytics aims to enable teachers and institutions to tailor education to the needs and abilities of individual students. It does so by analysing a wide range of data, such as how students do in completing assignments and taking exams, their online social interactions, extracurricular activities and posts on discussion forums, for example. The beneficiaries are not just students; these technologies could be used to assess curricula and pedagogy, as well.

Shared video is related to flow in education. It gives information about happiness, creativity, divergent thinking, and key elements of the flow. There are some statistical data for creativity, graphic of flow and examples from different fields. Enjoy :)

The link is to an interview with Etienne Wenger, who is an educational theorist and practitioner, best known for his formulation (with Jean Lave) of the theory of situated cognition and his more recent work in the field of communities of practice. There are various questions in the interview and can help us understand in detail.

I know it's related to our previous topic, but still I like the way she explains; a clear model of the thousands of little things that have to happen as we move from novice to expert and wanted to share with you.
