"The Dyslexia Buddy Network & Embracing Dyslexia Present: What I Wish Teachers Knew About Dyslexia. This film was created to show the common experience of the dyslexic student to the 300 teachers attending the 2015 Everyone Reading Illinois annual conference. This film was also created to teach our kids that their voice matters. Eleven of the youth in this film reside in Illinois, and the remaining three reside in Michigan, North Carolina, and California. "The identification of a child with dyslexia is a difficult process, but there are ways that parents and teachers can learn more about the reading difficulty and support the child's learning."
The Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity serves as a nexus for research on dyslexia, and is as well a leading source of advocacy and information to better the lives of people with dyslexia.
Our mission is to uncover and illuminate the strengths of those with dyslexia, disseminate the latest innovations from scientific research and practical advice, and transform the treatment of children and adults with dyslexia.
"Since 1975, the goal of the Dyslexia Research Institute, Inc. has been to change the perception of learning differences, specifically in the area of dyslexia and attention deficit hyper activity disorders (ADHD). With proper recognition and intervention, dyslexics and individuals with ADHD become successful individuals using their talents and skills to enrich our society. They may take their place alongside other individuals with dyslexia or ADHD, such as Woodrow Wilson, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, and Nelson Rockefeller."
