DPS : Academic Technology Solutions Menu - 0 views

  •
"The Academic Technology Menu is a resource for school leaders and teachers to let them know what software, websites, apps and other technology solutions are available and have been reviewed by district departments. It also informs school leaders and teachers about which solutions are supported and recommended and to what level. School leaders and teachers are encouraged to consult this menu whenever they are considering academic technology tools. The Menu is also an integral part of the district's Academic Technology Strategic Plan."

StoryToolz | Dashboard - 1 views

StoryToolz is a nice assembly of useful tools for writers. Writers who are struggling to come up with ideas for fiction stories will like the story starters featured on StoryToolz. StoryToolz has three tools that you can use to get story ideas; Random Conflicts, Half Title Generator, and Story Idea Generator. To use any of these three tools just select the tool from the main menu then look at the randomly generated idea. If you don't like the options, run the tool again until you get options that you like. In addition to the writing prompts tools StoryToolz offers a few tools to help you edit your work. The Cliché Buster analyzes your work to find clichés that you have used in your writing. The Readability tool analyzes your text to estimate a reading level on several scales.

Simple ways to set up your home or classroom to be a "learning place". - 3 views

Super cool coloring Turn old menus, CD cases or DVD cases into coloring/writing tools. Slip paper inside and get out the washable markers or dry erase markers (non smelling)! Color - wipe - color - wipe. Practice names, patterns, dot-to-dots and more. This is also great for some special needs situations - for children who get frustrated that their work is not 'perfect' the first time. No worries; they can erase and start again!
