GadgetGirl's Adaptech Classroom: RSS Feeds and Education - 2 views

  •
"RSS Feeds and Education I've been a long time user of RSS feeds but only recently discovered a way to keep up on the RSS feeds that I follow. I largely use Google Reader as my RSS reader however I do use FreeRange on my cell phone quite often as each of the sites below will note. I have occasionally also used the Windows Vista gadget to monitor feeds. And now, here is a list of my ten favorite educationally related feeds."

Do the Two Step to Protect Your Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box Files - 1 views

"Cloud storage of files is one of my favorite aspects of the modern Internet. Cloud storage services make it easy to access all of my important files from any computer and most mobile devices. And for students cloud storage eliminates the I forgot my flashdrive excuse for not having an assignment ready for class. The potential problem with cloud storage, and any other online service for that matter, is having your account compromised. One way to make it more difficult for your account to be compromised is to enable two-step authentication. Two-step authentication for a Google account requires entering a verification code that Google sends to your cell phone. Click here for directions or watch this video to learn more."

Free Technology for Teachers: Create Live Music on the Web With Your Friends - 2 views

  •
"Jam With Chrome is a fun new Google web tool. On Jam With Chrome (only works if you use the Chrome browser) you can play nineteen virtual instruments. Jams can have four musicians playing together in real-time over the web. It's an application that I had a bit of fun playing with this evening. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a native recording application built into Jam With Chrome. You could use a screencasting tool like Jing or Screenr to record your jam session. "

Create Rich Text With Rich Notes - 1 views

  •
Create Rich Text With Rich Notes There's not a lot you can do with your notes in iOS for the most part. Most notes apps let you type and that's about it. If you need to call out specific sections of text or give emphasis to certain phrases, there's only so much you can do. Rich Notes is an app that allows you to not only create notes with bold, underlined, and italicised text, but you can also add color and even highlight passages. If you've been looking for a notes app that will let you create rich text in iOS, this may be the one. We'll take a look at it and see how it holds up against the rest. Like this article? 25 Twitter Accounts to Help You Get Published | OEDb - 0 views

"We here at the ol' Online Education Database can't promise that following these Twitter feeds by periodicals, bloggers, agents, editors, and writers will score you a coveted publishing contract. But we can promise that you'll more than likely find at least one of them extremely useful when researching the five Ws (and one H) of getting your name out there as an author. And if these don't work, chances are they link up to a microblog that does. And if that doesn't work, then the blame probably sits with you."

"Ten Bloggers I Read First Yesterday, I was asked for a list of the blogs that I recommend reading other than my own. I published a similar list two years ago, but some of those blogs have become less active in the last year. Here is my updated list of the ten blogs that I go to first when my Google Reader account indicates "1000+ unread items.""
