Is this the direction textbooks will take in the near future? The content is important and is the center of this idea. It's also slightly portable (downloadable, accessible on up t o3 computers, and able to print 30%). This site makes annotations possible and more importantly sharable! The content is supported by learning communities! I like this idea; you even have the possibility of sharing beyond your classroom walls.

will explain the process of making a custom book from a series of wikipedia pages. The process produces a pdf, (other choices are available) downloads it you your desktop... and just waits for you to insert it into the iBooks library..... and you can custom create your chapters/topics etc.

iPad Multimedia Tools for Creativity, Collaboration, and Publication
This seminar will cover some of the best audio, photography, and video apps for use in education. There will be hands on opportunities to learn to use a variety of apps. Examples of creative and collaborative ways to use the iPad i learning will be shared along with suggested ways to publish student work.
During the seminar, we will be doing hands on activities with the following apps (most of them are free). It is suggested that you have them downloaded onto your iPad in advance if possible (use links on sidebar to locate the apps):

Great post on the use of apps based on SAMR levels. The post also shared downloads of dice (when folded properly) displaying various apps and color coded for SAMR. The dice could even be used for app smashing too.
I learned of Twine from Richard Byrne's Free Technology 4 Teachers blog post. It is great to see an opensource option that one can download and run locally or remain on the web to write.
