Welcome to My Resource Cloud - 10 views

  •
"Why is it 'My' Resource Cloud? If you want learners to learn you must first engage them. The concept behind My Resource Cloud is that each educator tailors interactive content to suit the needs of their own learners. Thus increasing enjoyment, allowing for greater individual expression and, above all, making the work of the educator easier and more effective. My Resource Cloud consists of a number of resource sections: My Language Cloud, My Math(s) Cloud, My Science Cloud and My ICT Cloud. My Resource Cloud content and interactivity becomes individual to the users and their students. It is a Cloud Learning Environment (CLE), providing a conceptual bridge for learners between formal education and the personal web. My Resource Cloud allows users to integrate web, printed, mobile and social media based technologies to help motivate learners. Complementary and premium content and services can easily be added and subtracted. Once you select content and interactive ellements you are free to use these with ALL your students. Open and closed social media integration can be easily tailored to your own needs. Enables a tailored learning enviroment where the educator can choose their own blend that fits. "

Create an eBook from online content « History Tech - 1 views

"Create an eBook from online content The world of educational resources and materials is shifting away from print stuff towards digital stuff. One of the reasons for this shift is the ease of creating and sharing digital stuff. ePUBS and tablets and apps like iBooks are merging into a mini-Perfect Storm event that supports and encourages the use of digital content. As social studies teachers, we need to take advantage of these sorts of tools. And I just ran across an incredibly easy to use online tool called Readlists that lets you create an ePUB book from resources that you find on the web. Imagine being able to create a digital book that has a variety of articles, data, and multimedia. Readlists is the latest project of the Arc90 people - the same people who created Readability."

BalancEdTech - Apps Taskonomy - 3 views

  •
Apps Taskonomy: Digging Deeper into the Application of Apps he iPad (or iPod touch or iPhone) with its apps opens many new opportunities for learning. At the same time, it offers a slightly different wrapper for older learning opportunities. Both can be worthwhile, but it would be a shame if teachers missed the former for the latter. And, if past experience and research is any indication, educators are much more likely to co-opt the new technology to accomplish the status quo. This activity is designed to help teachers think through both opportunities and to categorize those apps that lend themselves to either or both. Teachers will start by exploring a variety of apps, some that lend themselves to learning content such as math facts or spelling words and others that can be used in open ended content creation such as storytelling or photography. Then, teachers will examine a set of lessons that use these apps. Finally, teachers will use a "taxonomy" such as Bloom's Taxonomy, SAMR, LoTi, ETaP, Prensky, etc. and attempt to classify/categorize where the apps fall. Most likely teachers will need to contextualize the app to a particular use/activity. Ideally, teachers will realize that in most cases it is not the app itself, but the use that detrmines where it falls and that the apps belong in multiple places.

"YouTube is packed full of educational stuff to share with students. It is usually our first choice when thinking about video resources online. It is true that YouTube interface is not student friendly particularly with the annoying ads and sometimes irrelevant and indecent content on the list of the featured videos but thanks to web technologies , we can now use these awesome tools to easily control the content that is displayed on YouTube and make it educationally relevant platform for our students. Is this the direction textbooks will take in the near future? The content is important and is the center of this idea. It's also slightly portable (downloadable, accessible on up t o3 computers, and able to print 30%). This site makes annotations possible and more importantly sharable! The content is supported by learning communities! I like this idea; you even have the possibility of sharing beyond your classroom walls.
