I found this story newsworthy because it involves a man from my area. The qualities of newsworthiness that this story contains are timeliness, proximity, and unusual nature. The story was published just yesterday, and the magazine where the photo in question was displayed was a recent issue. The story is also very near to me. The man who took these photographs lives in my town. The story is of unusual nature because it isn't very often that men or women from Flemington, a small town in Jersey, are published or recognized in national media.

Jay-Z & Kanye West: Watch the Throne - review | Music | The Guardian - 0 views

Jay-Z & Kanye West: Watch the Throne - review Jay-Z gets all the best lines, but it's Kanye who seems to be in creative charge here, says Alexis Petridis 'Watch the Throne feels more like My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy than a Jay-Z album' … Alexis Petridis on Jay-Z and Kanye West's album. Photograph: Sipa Press / Rex Features You have to be impressed with Jay-Z's resolve when it comes to the matter of collaborative albums, perhaps the one chequered area in an otherwise triumphant career. A mini-album with nu-metal band Linkin Park was at best a minor addition to his oeuvre, but it looked like a roaring success compared to his collaborations with R Kelly, which spawned two terrible albums - the latter promoted by a tour Jay-Z colourfully described as a "nightmarish odyssey", and which abruptly concluded when Kelly was maced by one of Jay-Z's entourage en route to the stage at Madison Square Gardens.

At Rodarte, a Van Gogh Exhibition - NYTimes.com - 0 views

The story shows prominence/celebrity because the article discusses "teenage celebrities" sitting front row at fashion week. It has importance/impact because even a few years ago young celebrities would never been found front row at a fashion show. The article is significant because it is indirectly saying how times are changing. This story would be classified as a Special Interest story because not everyone is fascinated by fashion and whats going on within that specific industry. I chose this article because I am enthralled by fashion and want to pursue a major in it once I graduate high school..................This was also a timeliness article because the Rodarte show happened yesterday.

Before the Rodarte show, one of the photographers made a crack about the "teenage front row." Elle and Dakota Fanning, next to Tavi Gevinson, were facing Taylor Swift (who is an adult), next to Anna Wintour. While it is true that Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the Rodarte designers, skew young in their fan base, I think that is part of what fuels the appeal of their collections, at least among a fashion set that is eternally nostalgic for that moment in high school when anything seemed possible. (See Rookie.) Beyoncé and Solange Knowles made a late entrance, so maybe the appeal is even broader.

Qaddafi's Bloody End Points to Difficulties Ahead - NYTimes.com - 0 views

  •
TUNIS - Like the flight of Tunisia's dictator or the trial of Egypt's, the capture of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi on Thursday afternoon captivated the Arab world, giving a renewed sense of power and possibility. But the photographs of his bloody corpse that circulated just moments later on cellphones and television screens quickly tempered that exhilaration with a reminder of the many still-unresolved conflicts that the Arab Spring has also unleashed.
