The Ramsey New Jersey School District purchased 1,075 ipads for all of the schools. Money well spent because a study proved better in class student participation as well as communication between students and teachers through e mails and video tutorials. I'm impressed because of their drive to create globally technologically competent students who are able to reach out to the whole world through technology. These students will be well prepared to face the work force.

This constructive article written by Nicole Krueger stresses the importance of developing student's abilities to tell their stories through the use of many technological mediums, focusing primarily on video. In today's digital age, sharing our stories or work with the world is an integral part of making learning meaningful and positioning oneself to take place in digital society. While many teachers are still hesitant to integrate video projects into their curriculum, "creating a video can provide an authentic learning experience that brings together critical skills, such as analytical thinking, problem solving and collaboration." Therefore, I think this article is very helpful to our class and other educators alike as it promotes the use of technology in a very creative, innovative, and opportunistic way for students to think beyond the classroom, develop essential abilities, and strive for excellence. The progression of utilizing video projects in the classroom can only implicate stronger motivation for students to exercise technological tools as a major pathway of transferring their learned knowledge and skills to real world application.

This article discusses the importance of Technology integration. Effective tech integration is achieved when the use of technology becomes second nature or routine and when technology supports goals. This article also explains the importance of technology in school so that student can be intellectually challenged while providing them with an accurate picture office looks like. When I first saw the title to this article, "Infographic: Citizenship in the digital age," it made me smile. The popularity of technology and the world wide wide is growing rapidly. It's not only for personal use anymore. We truly have reached a "digital age." Anything and everything can be done and is done through the internet. With technology growing and becoming more and more available in the classroom and at home. Children as young as 3 and 4 years old are having access to things we never thought would be possible. As funny as it may sound it is extremely accurate that this article compares all of the similarities between actual citizenship and digital citizenship. As up and coming teachers it is important that we not only address this issue to our students but to practice it and show it's significance. This especially applies to bullying. Bullying has become such a huge issue in our classrooms recently and the majority of it is cyber bullying. With the world wide web  being such a big part of our everyday lives, its scary to think about it's permanency  and possible effect on our lives. 

This valuable article by Nicole Krueger explores five tips on how to develop a professional learning network amongst fellow educators from all around the world. Michelle has stressed to us in class how so many teachers have "discovered these vibrant learning communities" through means of networking sites such as Pinterest, Twitter, Edmodo, Diigo, Google Classroom, and much more. This assignment, of bookmarking and sharing information, epitomizes the importance of this article as we are enabling one another to grow from each other's ideas.Thus, I think for our class and other educators alike it is important to "dedicate time for networking, joining networks, attending conferences and edcamps, sharing ideas, and asking connected educators for help." The ability of such vast wealths of knowledge to be shared globally between many teachers can only implicate stronger connections and better points of reference for all educators in the future. 

Help kinesthetic learners learn computer science concepts through a robot. Groups of four help children write code for the robot to complete a task. Teaches them script and code in an activity oriented way. Can teach students script and code and think critically as teacher instruction facilitates learning but does not baby the children.Problem based learning methodology with helps students write tasks for the robot. Can get students excited about technology. Caters to kinesthetic learners which is rare.

They believe that people, such as teachers and programs would be "silly" to not stay update with the new technological systems, because that is the way our future is learning and growing. The talk about teachers teaching teachers, stating The Teacher Leadership Project, a nationally recognized, award-winning professional development model that is used in 18 states by 4,200 teachers, is a prime example of the good work being done in technology-infused teaching. "The whole '21st century' mindset is more than technology itself. It's the confidence teachers have to effectively use it in class."

This article outlines new improvements for teacher professional development, involving newer technology upgrades.  One key point of the article was the passing of the Enhancing Education Through Technology, or (EETT) state grant program, which includes a $650 million stimulus package to upgrade technology in classrooms across the country.  Funding is also provided to train the teachers to properly use the technology to its fullest capacity, this way educators can have confidence using these new tools.

Today students are expected to learn analytical skills for preparation for work and life in the 21st century. Teachers are expected to teach way that develops those skills. President Obama and congressional leaders included 650 million dollars. 25% had to be used to buy the most updated technology for students. International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) states "It would be "silly" not to keep up with the changes of the world today" National Staff Development Council says we have failed as a nation to meet highly effective professional learning. Today 18 states (4,200 teachers) were recognized for technology integration in the classrooms. Enhancing Missouri's Instructional Networked Teaching Strategies (eMINTS) is a program that aims to create classrooms where all students are motivated to succeed, build enthusiasm and creativity. eMINTS trained 3,500 teachers and 300 administrators since its formation in 1999. In the 21st century student will have a difficult time succeeding without technology. The article states "Technology integration in the end, is not really about technology, but rather the life skills it instills in students and teachers."

This post talks about integrating relevant information into the use of technology in a classroom. This means going beyond teaching the kids how to use the device and download apps but applying technology to specific areas of learning. This includes collaborating with the teachers of certain subjects and creating google docs to be able to openly see students progress as well as create ideas. They also talk about the SAMR model and i'll post that word for word because its an important model that was adopted by the school in the article for this idea. This is a short article that stresses the importance and the influence that global collaboration through the use of technology can influence elementary-aged children in the development of a positive learning experience. The use of technology, especially with young learners is becoming more and more popular. Children learn technology quickly and are eager to use it in both at home and in the classroom setting. The article explains the benefits that technology has when introducing it at a global level, such as a broadened world view at such a young age!

The article I found was very interesting. HARMAN, a leading technological company and Little Kids Rock, a national music nonprofit teamed together in a partnership to strengthen music education across the country. Dinesh Paliwan, CEO of HARMAN said "our goal at HARMAN is to inspire the next generation to realize their possibilities through the power of music, technology and service".

Go into any elementary school classroom today and ask the students to raise their hand if they play minecraft. I am not a betting man but I would put a lot of money on at least 50% of the students raising their hand. It is probably the most popular game today for youths. This article encourages teachers to embrace it. It is technology through a game in which children are learning, and enjoying it! Not the easiest thing to accomplish in a classroom. The article brings pop culture into play while allowing positive learning.

I thought this was a great article. There have been a lot of research on this game that suggests it's a really great learning game. It helps kids to use their imagination as well and critical thinking and math skills. Incorporating this into the school would be a great idea as this is something kids are very enthusiastic about and are comfortable with.

I enjoyed this article, i feel it would be a good idea to at least give it a try. Minecraft is a game that I have heard of an my best friends elementary school aged children play. I think it would be a good idea , the game helps kids use skills they need like critical thinking and problem solving. They also build things, use their math skills, and are using their imagination all while incorporating technology.

This article is helpful to our class because it establishes how important technology integration into our classroom is, and that in order to do so we teachers must be trained professionally. This improves our quality as educators.

I think this article is very helpful on how to bring technology and art together. It gives many examples on how to use technology and art such as the iPad green screen videos the class made and the Art and Technology night they host at the school. I would definitely use the examples in this article in my class room.

I found this article perfect because it relates to what we are presently doing in class. Basically, it is describing how popular iPads are becoming in classrooms and how younger students are using them as well. It gives a list of the to six apps for creative writing. This is useful information because some student have a hard time writing down ideas on paper, or even writing at all. These apps could help students think of ideas, strategies, and give them useful tips for writing. This article shows technology integration in classrooms through the use of iPads.

I found a great article about using iPad Apps to enhance creative writing for students. Some students struggle with writing. Often, they have difficulty formulating their ideas and putting the pen to paper. For these students, writing is daunting task. These Apps may be a fun way to enhance student learning and many of the Apps are free in the App store.

Like Mrs.Wendt this article stresses a PLN as a vital tool to help learn from others and become a better teacher to your students, which we all are striving to be in the future. The article gives 5 reasons why educators should network. They are, learn with others, serve your students, access a dynamic resource, extend your learning base and to stay engaged in education.

This is a very great article, I think that networking with other teachers is how you truly become a great teacher. If teachers did not network and talk to each other they would only know what they were taught in college and not have any hands on experience from other teachers who may have been there for a long time. I also believe in staying in touch with others through social media, it is a great resource.

Digital storytelling is a way of bring the story to life. Tinkering allows us to express our creativity. Group assignments bring students together, allow them to share their thought among one another, and create something together.

Google Chrome's extension One Tab can be helpful to not only teachers, but people who love to have multiple tabs open at one. This extension allows the user to compile their tabs into a single list clearing up their computer screen making it easier to navigate and sort through the multiple tabs they have open. One of the cool functions this extension performs is allowing a person to export and import their tab list as URLs. It can also allow one to create a webpage from their list of tabs. If a teacher had a bunch of websites they wanted their students to look at they could use this function to send it to them instead of simply listing each website individually. 

I found this post really interesting because this would be something I would definitely use! I get so confused when I have a million tabs open at once, I always click on all of them until I can find the right one. This extension would definitely benefit many students and teachers and keep their lives more organized!

A brand new article, Technology changing the culture of the classroom is about as up to date on the benefits of technology as you can be. In the Southwest Allen County school district, they take technology very seriously. They have a 1:1 ratio of student to ipad. They also use assigned technology for 1:1 learning and allows students to work at their own, as well as letting them to use their own imaginations and minds to work through critical thinking.They digitize the entire process so that work can be done at school and at home. Digital literacy is becoming just as important a skill to learn as regular academia literacy.
