This is an interesting free game to help young children to read. I am going to try this with my son who just turned 6 and is starting to learn to read. Claims to be the only site like this available but I haven't verified that. Great for teachers or parents. Adults sign up and add kids; kids are issued on password and parent/teacher can view progress.

I have signed up for this site but have not had a chance to use it with my 5 year old yet. Looks like it has some great possibilities. I love the Free Technology for Teachers Blog as well, I have found many great things on there such as the StoryKit App for the iPad.

This site has a lot of resources...including the Teach Your Monsters to read. Great resource for ways to include technology in your curriculum.

Great writing prompts. From The New York Times. What's Going On in This Picture? Could be used in class or students could post directly to The Times blog. Relevant for almost any age group.

This is a really great idea that can be used or expanded upon in the classroom. This allows for students to think and share their thoughts without hearing a teacher's thoughts to push them in a certain direction.

A great list of tools that can be used by teachers or students. Would be great to have students pick one and teach it to the rest of the class. Something I would absolutely consider for my future classroom.

As an Elementary Ed major I am grateful for this list of Web 2.0 applications that has the elementary classroom in mind. The tools are fitting for both teachers and students-teachers can modernize their teaching by integrating and including technology in every day lessons and communication, and students use the tools to complete assignments. I was excited to see that I only recognize 3 of the 10 resources on the list; it reminds me that there are so many apps and tools out there! Thanks for a link to great tools.

This website includes web resources, lesson plans, and units in a "user-friendly" way. Easy to figure out and search though, this site is clear and to the point with a lot of helpful resources.

IB Language B Wiki. This is a great resource for IB Language B teachers.  Many excellent resources and IB guides.

LHS French Wiki. Here is an example of a teacher who uses a Wiki to post resources for her classes.  Particularly useful for IB French teachers.

Online dice roller! Simple, but fun!  You never know when you need to roll a dice.  Works well with Smart Boards.

Partnership for 21st Century Skills is a good site to check out initiatives and goals for our future students.  Check out the resources tab or look at different state initiatives.

This website is really a great resource for use in a future classroom, but not really a tool or something that can be immediately applied tomorrow. This is a complicated model that takes time and effort to restructure a curriculum to fit. This resource is mainly for teacher use and feedback because it outlines what the Partnership for the 21st Century Skills are and how they apply to the classroom. There are a few similar resources out there like this one, but overall this one is the best! It outlines specifically, with research attached, what needs to happen and how we can transform education. Interesting ideas and beneficial thoughts, but really hard to implement!

In need of some new web 2.0 tools? Check out this site! Plus, the website has even more than just that--check out the resources they have for administrators, teachers, parents, and students.

I have came across this resource before as well and seemed to really enjoy it. I really enjoyed how it incorporated mobile tools, community tools, as well as presentation tools. I feel this is a very beneficial tool in which I could use in my future classroom. Another thing that I really enjoyed about this resource was the fact that it not only targeted teachers, but also included admins, parents, and students as you mentioned. Great find!

I have explored this site before. It is a good one, in my opinion! It has many great resources for teachers and students. I really like how it has specific links to all Web 2.0 tools. This would be very efficient for busy teachers who need resources about technology and how to incorporate it into lessons. I have not come across any other site that highlights all the major components of Web 2.0 tools.

Education Week is a good source for recent news concerning technology and education.  Many good article, blogs, and links to check out.  Current trends and issues with technology and education are addressed.

This is a blog written by a "renown technology integration specialist and veteran teacher." Doug blogs about a series of different topics including software, having a digital classroom, and how to keep students safe online. Ideas like these will definitely be beneficial in our future!
