This teacher describes how she transformed her classroom into a 21st century learning environment for her students.

I found this post very interesting. It is easy to see how PBL may work in a science or math classroom, but I have always wondered how it would look for English. It seems like this teacher has truly grasped PBL, and her students are enjoying the learning process. I think this resource could be utilized by any teacher who instructs about English content, but depending on the age of the learners, the students may not reach full autonomy as those in this article did. I particularly enjoyed one quote from the teacher, "Finally technology is embedded into the structure of all we do... It's never an accessory tacked on at the end." As we have learned about in other EdTech courses, technology needs to truly transform the learning experience. I believe the teacher is doing that in this classroom.

This Blog is one that I have bookmarked and will coming back to. This teacher's description of her class is how I want to work to make my class to look like. She had her premise but she had been able to create a class based on inquiry, openness and trust. This empowers students to create a social media campaign, create their own curriculum, and at the same time become more advanced in the content. Ms. Barseghian, I'm gushing, but your class sounds inspirational and worth the gushing.

There are a lot of resources here for all classrooms, teachers, and students. It is divided up into 14 different categories and everything that I've looked at is free to your classroom. I've been searching for a few resources, such as a good audio-to-speech converter and some better graphics organizer sites. I typically have students create a end of the semester portfolio that documents all of their learning and their final products in various categories and I can see how sites like Cacoo, Organizely, and Popplet could really help me out.

This is a great resource to use in educating yourself on information about digital storytelling in the classroom. You can use this to learn information about it and why it should or should not be used in the classroom. It is a good idea to know the benefits and downsides to any resource we are using in the classroom

Evidence of students programming their own apps. While I can't teach them how, I can encourage them. Hoping to use this in AP to develop a program for building a city.

This article would be beneficial to share with teachers so that they know the benefits of teaching students to code. Coding in the classroom has long range benefits that could lead to students having many options in their future careers. Additionally sharing this article with students would show them that while coding is fun; they are also working on developing skills that can help them in the present and future.

I really like this resource. I will definitely be looking at this as I get ready to write my final paper. This is different from all of the other articles that I have seen because it is not directly related to coding with students. I could see how this could be beneficial for a young professionals group all the way up to a senior citizen center.

It's interesting how all of these things connect with coding. As a computer science major I can see how all of these can be impacted by coding, yet I never thought of them. After reading this article I definitely can look back and see this occurring through out the past two years!

This site shows some simple ways of being able to start global collaborating in your classroom. My favorite advice is to pick something you are passionate about.

1. I agree that this could be used in my own future classroom -- but it would be contingent on finding the right topic and group to collaborate with. 2. I think that the resource is mostly for teacher use as it provides an overview and tips/tricks for teachers. 3. Other resources that might want to be considered are the different websites shared by Dr. Z during class.

I agree that this could be used in a classroom. This can be a good way to help students better understand a topic that they are learning at that time. I feel though it would be more for the teacher usage for a younger age. I feel that a global collaboration might be difficult for elementary students unless they work with anyone older than them in their district. Otherwise, I feel it would be a good experience for older students as well.

While still in closed Beta this will be an awesome tool for teachers and students!

I am a big fan of Canva! I taught my 4th grade students how to use it last year. They continue to use it for projects, tasks, and assignments. They have a hard time finding free graphics on the site, though. Luckily, they are also good at finding and inserting their own :)

This research paper takes a closer look at the changes that have been made in education and how schools can transform with these changes by using technology to create a new kind of learning environment.

This is one of the resources I am using to write my final paper. It discusses how Gamification can help student engagement and motivation.

Thanks for sharing Dave. I never seem to get tired of reading about gamification. It's so interesting. I definitely think that this can be used as a resource for teachers.

Gamification is very unique inside of a classroom now that I have a better idea on what it is. I feel that it fits perfectly inside of a classroom because it gives the room a whole new look. It can be beneficial for both teacher and student because the teacher can use the game to help get the students attention and help better their learning. Then the students can use it to help with their learning and become more engaged to what they are being taught and having it be put into a fun way of learning.
