This flip chart introduces students to fractions. I would be using this with my 4/5 class. I have just used this through the ACTIVInspire program and it looks great. It is colourful with images and hidden answers for students to find.
Having the whole school talking about something as positive and exciting as literacy is a great reason to do something like this! It shows how excited the students are about creating their own work - love it.
I caught this last night on ABC program Big Ideas. It is from the Melbourne 2013 Creative Innovations conference and is of Stephen Heppell talking about changing the way we teach and learn. Most of the videos from the conference are available to watch and I'd recommend trying to see at least the 'education' related ones.
I found this while looking for Australian teacher blogs. This blog has a lot of teaching strategies and plenty of 'freebies' that the blogger has created for the classroom.
I found this while looking for a concept map program, they are already created concept maps on various topics. Good starting point for students if they are stuck on how to get it going!
I read this article today and it made me think about the 'older' generations and how they cope with the new technology. It isn't going to be long and we'll become the 'older' generation. How long until we are overwhelmed with a variety of 'new' technologies we can't cope and just go back to our 'old' ways, in this case sending a letter. I'm sure some children have never sent a letter through the post office!!
I also love the offer of the CEO to help teach the gentleman how to use online shopping!!
