Lessons & Instructional Materials - Earthquake Introduction. The flipchart introduces earthquakes by asking students to do a 3 minute quick write about their background knowledge. Then, the pages turn into an introduction to vocabulary words related to earthquakes. Students watch a seismograph at work to show student the way the machine works.

This is an Australian activity aimed at Prep/ Foundation year Science where students sort and classify states and properties of matter

Great resource for Year 1. I like the flipchart as it uses a variety of interactive experiences to engage the learner in making choices that are healthy. Some of the problems that may occur with the flipchart information is not considering other food groups and the realistic question of defining "what really is a balanced diet".

Found this and thought it may be useful when planning a rubric if you are using flipcharts. Include some good ideas on what a flipchart should have.

This can be used in kindergarten and the first years of primary school. It promotes language development (learning the names and the written form of the days of the week) and number recognition. * What it is you like about the flipchart. Prior to downloading this, it requires a relevant application to be installed.

Flipchart for a Promethean IWB looking at probability. Uses the built in dice function to compare experiment with theoretical values. Good sequence will help scaffold learning. Good use of the inbuilt dice tool to produce data. Links to some good resources including an online tool that helps generate lots of data quickly. Apparently intended for age ranges from 11 through 18. Some of the exercises/examples may be seen as a little "young" for older students.

Great resource for Foundation/Year one to help consolidate number recognition.  It enables students to match objects with words and numbers.  This is a great visual tool for those visual learners within the class.  Each student has a turn at matching the number of children with the number on the bus and further along in the  lesson, the pictures change to trees and apples.  Very engaging for students.

The learning area/year level that could use this resource wout be from prep to year 6. What I like about the flipchart is that it is very interactive and provides resources for a wide range of maths concepts from birthdays, weather to hundreds charts, place value to number lines. Any problems it might have would be that for some things you need to enter or edit you have to switch back and forth between design mode.

The fairly uninspiring title doesn't do justice to this useful little link to a flipchart which uses interactive material to step learners through some of the useful aspects of fractions for a Year 6/7 stage.

Year 3 level Science I liked this flip chart because its a simple introduction to the topic:heat and includes science experiments. I can't say there's anything I would change just yet, it depends what level the children are at.

What learning area/year level you think you might use this. This is great for maths, being in special ed. there are many students with splinter skills that can move ahead in certain area's. I think this is a great tool to help those student who may be behind keep interested in learning as its interactive and fun. What it is you like about the flipchart. I like that its colorful and engaging for students.  Any problems you think it might have. COST! Very expensive

Fractions Game would be a great resource to help students who may be struggling to understand adding or subtracting fractions. I like how it provides real world items to add or subtract as fractions. Can be used for years 3-7
