Becta. (2008). Harnessing Technology Review 2008: The role of technology and its impact on education. Coventry, UK: Becta. Reviews the role of technology in the UK and summarises the approach of primary and secondary schools and colleges. In all three sectors, the review reflects the same kinds of opportunities, attitudes and barriers that we found represented in our UNESCO survey of primary schools around the world. This data shows the range of different stages of maturity of ICT use between primary schools within one country with a unified system of state education. The range will be even broader when private education is included. Some countries will not yet have had the amount of government investment in ICT infrastructure for schools that the UK had by 2008, others will by now be well ahead of this. However, the issues are universal.

A charity that sets out to inspire and support schools and families to take positive action so that the education of every child is enhanced by good access to, and use of, learning technologies when and where they need them. It offers advice and guidance to schools on how to run a 1-1 access programme that is equitable for all families. It runs a Donation Management Service (DMS) that enables schools to support 1-1 tablet access even for disadgantaged children. It does this by taking over the administrative burden of making regular collections from parents, to create provision for all children to have their personal access to a computer.

ALT is the UK's leading membership organisation in the learning technology field, and has members and links to learning technology organisations across the world. Its purpose is to ensure that use of learning technology is effective and efficient, informed by research and practice, and grounded in an understanding of the underlying technologies, their capabilities and the situations into which they are placed. It operates by improving practice, promoting research, and influencing policy.

Coursera Course were we analyse examples from schools in different parts of the world, and bring professional teachers, headteachers and policymakers together to share their best ideas and inspiring stories. The materials in the course are based on studies carried out for the UNESCO Institute of IT in Education, Moscow.

The Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) Technology in Education (formerly NCTE) promotes the integration of ICT in learning and teaching in first & second level schools in Ireland. With effect from 1st June 2012, the role and functions of the National Centre for Technology in Education (NCTE) come under the remit of the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST). Inspiring book that shows the possibilities of ICT integration in Pre Primary Education (Early Years, Kinder, ...). It is beautifully illustrated with pictures and images from real contexts. Even if the focus is on pre-primary, many of the concepts and practices are well aplicable to primary education.
