Now you can manage and check into convetions/banquets from your living room couch, airport, bed, car, or anywhere that you bring your cell phone. With ONE mobile App that can store up to 12 diff meetings you can manage everything from checking in to managing the guest list, RSVP, layout, slide shows, etc. All from your cell phone, no phone calls necessary, no having to talk to anyone even your own guests. This would save a great deal of time, effort, and energy.

Benefits of E-Marketing over Traditional Marketing - 0 views
-
EMarketing is the ability to market your products or services with Internet capabilities. In other words, it includes emailing, websites, follow-up, and every other marketing approach. Through computer/Internet capabilities, small business owners that embrace eMarketing will save themselves hours of time. With eMarketing, business owners can automate nearly all of their business management functions. That means that eMarketing capabilities are taking care of the day-to-day tasks small business owners and their employees would normally be engaged in. eMarekting also has some other benefits. E-marketing eliminates the printing and postage costs of direct mail and is substantially less expensive than other traditional forms of advertising. Customers opt in to receive your news via email. E-marketing is affordable, so you can advertise more often.

Keeping hotel locks safe | Hotel Management - 1 views
-
This article discusses the security issues with room keys. These hotel locks will not open with cards that are read as duplicates or duplicatable. The locking mechanism has been specifically designed to alert the front desk and secuirty departments in the event these locks are tampered with. I'm sure at one point or another we have all experimented with our room key and tried to open other doors. A system like this will prevent activity like that.

Accounting System - 0 views
-
This Microsoft Accounting System gets broken down into profit margins, trackinig key metrics, customer satisfaction, etc. It puts an emphasis on gathering trends, improving results and driving growth. A lot of this is based on statsical anylasis, charts, and diagrams. It has pop windows that would translate the data into plain english. It continuosly mointors your outsourcing vendors for quality staisfaction and rates. You don't have to be a mathematical genius to use this system either. The system will do it for you, as you can see there are many other programs that compliment this one.

it can track theft which would eliminate the need for camera installation. You can track your best and worst sellers, promotional items and inventory control. The best part is you can even do this from the privacy of your own home. There are a lot useful photoshots of how the images will be displayed and financial sheets. Interesting!

7 Things to Consider When Choosing Guest Management Software - About The Inn - 1 views
-
Our B&B, Brewster House Bed & Breakfast, was recently in a position to re-evaluate its guest management software choice. You would think that the frequent evaluations (and upcoming reviews!) of various systems (we'll call them guest management software, though some call them property management software) would make this an easy thing to do, but it never works out that way.

Third-party aggregators also need to be able to connect with individual meters, installed in an unpredictable pattern across different utility service areas,
-
Cellular works well for that, while the mesh networking used by the majority of the smart meters deployed in the U.S. to date requires lots of meters in proximity to one another to pass each others’ messages along to central collection points -- a fact that’s led key mesh smart grid players, like Silver Spring Networks, to add more cellular capabilities to their technology

travel agents are increasing … not decreasing … their reliance on GDS systems for hotel information.
- ...7 more annotations...
-
Travel agents are now less likely to use printed hotel directories, direct mail, fax, and the phone to gather information about hotels.
-
Travel agent readership of the promotional text messages continues to have significant influence on hotel choice: 53% of all travel agents who recall GDS advertising report that they made a booking at a hotel at least once in the prior three months due to a GDS ad.
-
An advertiser only pays for ads delivered to these terminals. Situations where an advertiser does not pay for ads would include the following: Terminals at selected agencies that have been turned off to GDS messages by agreement with the GDS to support the agency’s preferential booking programs. A travel agency group has created their own user interface that does not utilize the screen interfaces (with advertising) provided by the GDS. Terminals that are not viewed by a travel agent, but instead are being utilized by a robotic program. This determination is based on an assessment of the transaction speed that would indicate a programmatic application. In order to make sure that ad impressions are not wasted, advertising is turned off to these terminals.
-
In 2003, estimates are that travel agents will book $11.5 billion in room revenues compared to total online consumer bookings via the Internet of $7.5 billion.
-
Hotels are seeing a large return on their advertising investment through the GDS. For a typical reservation worth $200 in rooms revenue (two night stay and $100 ADR), only a 0.5% response from travel agents would create a 10 times return from a GDS advertising campaign.

I like the mobile being discussed here, can these be expanded into tracking devices I wonder. I don' t like the rather vague description being provided on there customer service polic. It makes me weary of using the software if I don't see any benefits listed under customer service or troubleshooting. Would someone be there to assist if I was trouble using there system or if goes down. What assurances are provided? Warranty, Insurance, etc. It should be more than just we provide customer service.

Long Term Reservation Features Long term reservations can be created for guests staying between 30 days - 4 years. The long term reservations can calculate monthly rent with the ability to override and pro-rate rent. Each property can define rules for which reservations constitute as long term based on the length of stay or tax status.
-
The system can calculate various additional charges, such as a booking fee, resort fee, gratuity, pet charge, housekeeping fee, etc. Many customers have used this ability to increase the total revenue. These charges can be calculated as a flat fee, a percentage of total room charges, or based on the room type or room number. A sample screen is below:
-
A reservationist only enters the arrival date, departure date, and number of guests. The system calculates the correct package charge for all possible seasons, unit types, and components
-
Rate plan patterns can be used to offer a free night periodically during the stay, or a discounted rate after a number of days.
-
several customers in the Myrtle Beach area have reservation packages that include golf at over 100 golf courses in the area. The package includes one round per person per day at any medium quality golf course in the area
-
With this system you not only can you tailor a package to specifically meet a guests needs, but you can have all the charges appear one bill with one flat rate. This would eliminate human errors such as double billing, tand he need to have 10 seperate bills. This would also make the night auditors life easier because they would have less charges to track. It would all be on one sheet of paper.
-
-
Most hotel customers assign a room type during the reservation process, and then assign the room number closer to or at check-in, based on which rooms are clean and available. However, customers using the owner accounting system often assign the room number during the reservation process. You can assign room numbers during the reservation process, anytime prior to arrival, or upon arrival. Guests can also switch rooms after arrival, and the owner accounting module will pay the owner of each unit the correct amount.
-
The RDP system guarantees availability of adjoining rooms. For example, assume there are two rooms with an adjoining door. The system allows one reservation to hold these two specific rooms.
-
a deposit is required to hold the room, the reservationist enters the guest's credit card number, and the system obtains an authorization immediately and automatically.
-
which allows reservationists to determine why a guest did not book a room. Perhaps the rate was too high or there was not enough conference space. Proper analysis of denied reservations can lead to changing rates or policies to increase future bookings

This article demonstrates how easy it is to check in and out of your hotel as well use the services that feature at the property. There is no longer a need for room keys or itemized receipts to be printed. All the agents have to do is scan the mobile app and all charges can be seen from your smart phone. Asides from all charges being posted, yourphone will be unlocking most doors including your guest room, spa, and. fitness center. You don't have to worry about misplacing your room key and having to take it out everytime you want to use the elevator or get into your room. This type of technology has been produced in France and has been adopted by Comfort Xpress in Oslo, Norway. I don't think it will be long before the US adopts this policy. All they would have to do is create or purchase the software and hardware from Ariane Systems and Openways or create there own verison. Personally, I would love to be able to use something like this, I always misplace or forget my room key but never my phone. I also don't have to wory about putting change in my pocket and having the room key be defunct. My only question would be how many mobile apps could I have? If I was traveling with a guest or partner, could they get a mobile app as well at no additional costs?
-
Many of the individual elements of the tech-led hotel are in place, but a hotel in Norway has joined all the dots together, creating a completely human-free experience. Combining check-in/out and guest management software from France-based Ariane Systems with room door technology from OpenWays, visitors to the Comfort Xpress Hotel in Oslo will soon be able to complete their entire stay without ever speaking to a member of staff.
