oops...meant to add that while they sell a FABULOUS and well priced curriculum - there is a FREE podcast online for most of their programs with short relevant video episodes that go GREAT with class...just look them up on iTunes "The Choices Program"
Probably kind of out there, but if you teach AP Human Geography and need a current visual for comparing British to American English for the "Language" chapter - this site has a comparison of the British and American Versions of the first Harry Potter novel (so it's current for the kids and something they have a connection to)
Site by the Goethe Institute. Lesson materials for teaching about modern Germany.
I ESPECIALLY recommend the online game simulation "Race 4 the Future"...my kids really enjoyed it!
Cool online simulations, though I see them more as "Choose your own adventure" types...still I think students will like them! Even come with short answer questions and quizzes!!!
Cool resource for "choose your own adventure" type simulations online where students can read about history, but feel like they are navigating through it! Comes with short answer and quiz questions to check comprehension
Having students create comics can be a great way to get them to work on summarizing info and lessons!
Most of these sites require you to make an account (create a username, provide an email) - only Stag'D seems to not require that!
You can no longer apply for this program and get materials sent to you...BUT, if you look at the bottom of the "Educators" page, you will see links to download electronically the entire educator's resource book (I couldn't get the whole book as one download, but downloading chapter by chapter worked), AND the PPT with all of the images!!
AWESOME resource!!
