Redraw the map on redistricting. Legislators have long used redistricting as an opportunity to select their constituents, rather than empowering voters to elect their representatives. This site accompanies a book I bought recently and would highly recommend as a useful guide for high school history students. It contains research and writing style guides and heaps of online resources (which I'm going to add to the group anyway). It's written for introductory undergraduate students yet would be useful for senior high school history students and is written and organised clearly and effectively.

I know I'd already added this page to the group, however the resources that ordered arrived recently and they are so cool I decided to add it again. Most def worth a look for all the history peeps. The students dig it. You feel me?

Create a public space for group collaboration on the fly. Might be a great tool to have on-line discussion with students, or a place for students to collaborate on an assignment.

Create a "room", chat online in real time. Simple and clean design. Great for class room use.

The Virtual Field Trip is a field trip that students and teachers take via the Internet.  A great benefit of this activity is that it utilizes technology tools to help students visualize and understand subject matter through exploration and active learning. It's also a great way to "travel" without leaving your classroom! Look for sites with QuickTime VR, which allows you to view panoramic views of your virtual field trip location.

The final videos can all be found here.  I hesitate to embed any in the post because I know I would be prone to pick the "best" one.  Please click on the link and randomly select one to watch! There are two pages of videos-and hey-leave a comment or a thumbs up!  I have to say, that after watching the kids make these, the final products just don't reflect the amount of work that is needed.  What I mean is that you shouldn't watch them and say "My kids could do that in a couple of days."  It took 360 minutes of class time to produce those 1-2 minute videos!! One thing I wished we had done is to write transitions so that the different videos linked together better.  I inadvertently led them to make videos on topics that come across as standing alone in time instead of being influenced and apart of other events and movements.
