    Has articles and some source material links related to World History. The site (run out of University of Illinois, by the looks) has a strong focus on 'big history.' I hadn't encountered this term before; it seems to mean looking at history not through civilisations but rather periods or regions. If that description is wrong and someone could provide more accuracy on 'big history' that would be cool.

Written with passion and eloquence, they are full of ideas originally dismissed by a white, segregated academy that have now become part of the scholarly mainstream. Covering topics including slave resistance, black abolitionists, Reconstruction, and W. E. B.     All new history is revisionist history. This only gets dicey with the Holocaust since Survivors use the term "revisionist" for deniers or justifiers of the Holocaust. As this definition shows, communist historians can be revisionists and right-wing historians can be revisionist. All historians should aim to be revisionist if they are writing for academics (i.e. journals) and not the general public, if not there really is no reason to publish and no reason why the historian's work should be published since it is not new and not "revising" what we already know.

    'Google has a big economic incentive to ensure that its online library is widely available: it makes most of its money from search advertising, so the more people that use its services, including the online book archive, the better. It also has a legal incentive to watch its step. The agreement stipulates that institutional subscription prices must be low enough to ensure that the public has "broad access" to digital books, while at the same time earning market rates for copyright owners. So if lots of libraries refuse to sign up for Google's service because it is too costly, the company could be slapped with a lawsuit.'
