The Department of S & H conducted a Symposium named 'HARMONY - 2011' for first the year students on 23rd February 2011. The following events were conducted.

A Mammoth Aerospace Event and Air Show of the year in the Asian Continent took place at Yelahanka, Bangalore from 9th - 13th February 2011. It was a joint effort by the Government of India and various private companies involved in the Aerospace Market.

Inauguration of Air Jordan Basketball Court & Inauguration of the 20th Dr. K. C. G. Verghese Memorial Inter Collegiate Basketball Tournament by Mr. Troy Justice, Director, Operations NBA in India was held on 7th February 2011 at 3.30 pm at HITS, Bay Range Campus.

Chennai Engineering Colleges and especially KCG College of Technology has always been a chivalrous institution. This day saw two events. The first one was a greenathon. The basic motive of this event was to spread awareness. A handful of students went all over Rajiv Ghandi salai Encouraging people to use recycled paper bags instead of plastic bags. They went to restaurants and shops like The Shogun, Amaravathi restaurant, Nalas, SAS, Cafe Coffee Day, Dominoes and more. They got a huge and warm response from everyone.

We aimed to serve 200 underprivileged women, children and elderly who don't have access to Basic Medical care. We had services like BMI, Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Dermatology, Dental, ENT, Physiotherapy, Electro Cardio Gram / Heart problems, General checkup and Surgical opinion. It was a grand success.

The NSS Unit was started in our college in the year 2004. Since then it has been a vibrant and active unit.National Service Scheme (NSS) of KC Tech has been rendering yeoman service to the society. NSS has been functioning as a regular feature in the realm of our university education.

Geethu Anna Jose, the legendary Indian Center, has finally been given a shot at her WNBA dream. The superstar who captained Indian Women's team at the FIBA Women's Asia Basketball Championship (ABC) in Chennai (2009), has been given the rare honour as she was invited to a tryouts with two WNBA teams in the USA - the Chicago Sky and the Los Angeles Sparks.

A group of 30 students from semester V went for tree walk at the Nageswara Rao Park, Mylapore on September 21, 2012. This was a joint venture with Nizhal, NGO, working on various greening activities around the city.

Two day National Workshop on "Network Simulator-2" (Hands-on Training) was conducted by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering during 27th & 28th September 2012 in the Networks lab.
