Stanford's acclaimed d. school inspired 50 teams of graduate students to pitch projects at Aspen Ideas Festival. Spark Truck, one of the winners is a "mobile maker lab" that brings simple tech to help inspire kids to become creators.

This is a website created by Burlington High School students that are taking a class called Help Desk. In the class they run a help desk to help teachers learn and integrate current technology into classrooms. This was administration's response at Burlington to teachers needing support in incorporating web 2.0 tools into curriculum when they started a one to one device system.

Article on smartphone usage

Over 7,000 students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools are enrolled in virtual classrooms, or e-learning labs. Core subjects are taken on computers, and instead of a teacher, there is a "facilitator" in the room who makes sure the students are actually doing their work. The facilitator also gives tech help.

I have read a few short books on my iphone and enjoyed it, but it was an exersis in patience. I don't think phones will ever be viable text readers for students.

I have experienced this first hand. Adults find it cute to watch their young children staring deeply into their cell phones (iphones) as they pop digital balloons, etc. Disruptive? Def. if you are sitting next to this family at a restaurant.

Just as the title says, this article explains that those individuals who use tablets are often more educated, wealthier, and more interested in the news than the average American.
