Poor communication can be frustrating; however, in healthcare, poor communication can affect a person's quality of life and length of life. Each week, patients, pharmacies, physician offices, hospitals, and patient advocacy groups receive thousands of pharmaceutical materials and related drug information that either supports or complicates patient care and the conversations patients have with their healthcare providers. Your organization may have dozens or hundreds of pieces of pharmaceutical content lying around--some of it great and some of it dangerously unclear. For us to ensure pharmaceutical communications are as clear as possible, we need your help! To keep patients as safe as possible, P.Voxx collects, digitizes, and uploads drug-related communications in a search-ready, subscription-based database. IHA plain language experts then (1) evaluate these biopharmaceutical communications for clarity and (2) work with the original content developers to make the communications more understandable. By ensuring prescription drug communications are as clear as possible, HELP empowers medication-focused programs, professionals, and patients to achieve better health outcomes How Can You Help? You can collect and donate all of the pharmaceutical marketing and advertising materials your office receives from drug reps and other sources. We send you pre-addressed, postage-paid envelopes, so you can simply place these promotional materials into the envelopes and mail them back to us. P.Voxx and the IHA will take it from there! Study indicates baby teeth may lead to spotting mental disorders in children - Latest P... - 0 views

  •
Baby teeth could one day lead to the development of a much-needed tool for identifying children who are at risk for psychological problems, a study by the University of Bristol has concluded. The research has been published in the 'JAMA Network Open' - a monthly journal published by the American Medical Association. The origin of this study traces back several years, when senior author Erin Dunn - a social and psychiatric epidemiologist and an investigator in MGH's Psychiatric and Neurodevelopmental Genetics Unit - learned about work in the field of anthropology that could help solve a longstanding problem in her own research. She studies the effects of childhood adversity, which research suggested, is responsible for up to one-third of all mental health disorders. Dunn is particularly interested in the timing of these adverse events and in uncovering whether there are sensitive periods during child development when exposure to adversity is particularly harmful.

Workforce Issues, Staff Retention-A Big Concern For LPCs - 0 views

  •
Workforce issues, staff retention and capacity continues to be a big concern for the Local Pharmaceutical Committee as it discussed the topics at a recent meeting with the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC). The meeting, attended by delegates from 66 LPCs, focused on the current challenges faced by community pharmacies as well as the planning for the next year. Around 64 per cent of delegates said workforce was the top challenge faced by pharmacy contractors, and suggested reducing the migration of pharmacists to Primary Care Networks (PCNs). Other suggestions included - "improving the development opportunities available for pharmacists and their teams, and rebranding the profession to make community pharmacy a more attractive route for young graduates." On the development of Integrated Care Systems (ICS), the majority of respondents were positive about their LPC's engagement in the new setting.

Community Pharmacy Funding Issue | Financial Crisis UK - 0 views

  •
Trade bodies have reiterated the call for more funding in response to the reports that ministers are considering a Pharmacy First scheme amid the NHS strike. The Sunday Telegraph reported that pharmacies could be drafted in to help the NHS to cope when other healthcare workers take industrial action. But, a PSNC committee member has warned on Monday that the government suggestions are "categorically impossible" without extra funding. The Company Chemists' Association (CCA) has echoed the sentiment, saying pharmacy network is on the brink of collapse. "We welcome plans for a Pharmacy First scheme in England. However, after eight years of funding cuts, the pressures on community pharmacies are simply untenable," Malcolm Harrison, chief executive of the CCA, said.

Assisted Living Facility :How To Choose The Right - 0 views

  •
Assisted living facilities are for people with cognitive decline or those with trouble managing their daily activities like feeding themselves, getting dressed, or bathing. If your loved one can't perform two or more basic daily activities, they become candidates for assisted living. Choosing an assisted living facility goes beyond just signing up and moving in. The choice should be carefully considered because this is where your loved ones will probably spend the rest of their lives. So, when the time comes, you have to consider pertinent things to help you make the right decisions. Levels Of Care Provided By The Assisted Living Facility Assisted living facilities offer varying levels of care which range from lower levels of care to memory care. Having an idea about the different levels of care provided in assisted living facilities will help you ask the right questions. You should be able to know what level best suits your loved one so that their needs can be addressed adequately. For instance, a person who only needs assistance with mobility but can do other things independently will be suited for level 1 care. On the other hand, those who need additional care because they have difficulty remembering things and can't take care of themselves will be better placed in level 3 care.
