Title-Moral reasoning and ethics Author-n.d. Date-n.d. Why relevant and summary-because it explains what moral reasoning is. How this influenced me-It gave me actual facts to write my paper. Credibility-Not sure because no date or author, however it has many different sources.

Title: Kantian Ethics Author: none Date Published: n.d. Why Relevant and Summary: Relevant to Kolhberg's final sixth stage of moral reasoning: Universal Ethical Principals. Kant believed that moral reasoning is not based on the idea that humans are a means to an end, but that were an end in ourselves. How This Influenced My Thinking: I have studied Kant in Philosophy classes in the past, and enjoyed having the chance here to cross previous learning into what I am learning now. It also helped me to understand Kohlberg's sixth stage more thoroughly. Credibility of Source: Great - Wikipedia is credible

Title: Kohlberg Author: Saul McLeod Date Published: 2011 Why Relevant and Summary: This article found on simplypsychology.org gives a descriptive over view of each of the 6 moral stages theory by Lawrence Kohlberg. It also discusses the criticism of his theory by Gilligan. Gilligan claimed that women and men were determined using the same standard because original studies were solely based on men. Gilligan says women approach situations from an "ethics of care" rather than from and "ethics of justice" ..changing the stage that women and men most often ended up in. How This Influenced My Thinking: It gave me a better understanding of the way that Kohlberg approached this study and how Gilligan opposed the findings. The article was very clear and presented the information to be easily understood. Credibility of Source:Somewhat -Credible citations were used in the writing of this article.

Title: 40 Things You Can Do to Raise a Moral Child Date: 2012 Author: Ethical Society Mid Rivers Summary and why important: This list many different areas where parents can promote moral decision making in their child. While it's not so much an article, it does list wonderful tips and advice. How it has change my thinking: While it didn't necessary "change" my thinking, as a parent I found everything on this site to be helpful and positive. Credibility: This was a post from the Moral Society. I don't know who the author was specifically all of the information was logical.

Title: The Tribal Mind: Moral Reasoning and Public Discourse Author: Arnold Kling Date Published: April 26, 2012 Why Relevant and Summary: As soon as I saw this article I thought it was great. In a very interesting way it explain what moral reasoning is and how it is developed, influenced upon and used in today's complicated world. It taps on issues that we are faced with daily, especially coming after a presidential election where the "morals" of each side where being discussed and with a fierce public discourse. This essay also discusses some great books written about the topic and the author does a great job at explaining how our own personal moral values and beliefs are used to justify our behavior and manipulate others; and also how these moral decisions are very often based on instinct and rapid judgment rather than rational thought. The author maintains the position that even though we have come along as a society we still behave sometimes in tribal manner, and that goes not only for how we conduct business or personal relationships but also how this great country of ours is run. How This Influenced My Thinking: As a young person, and as a mother of two young boys, I took in all the information that I got from this article; I think I am going to read it again and also read the books that were used to support some of the thinking behind it. I believe that when someone truly understand where someone else is coming from it will be easier to comprehend their thinking and the commitment that they have to their moral compass. Also interesting to find out was how often rushed moral judgment occurs in our society, and how that directly impact all of us. It was a great article with a great deal of food for thought. Title:Pregnancy, Birth, and Medicine Author: Rebecca Kukla, Catherine Wayne Date:February 17, 2011 Why Relevant to Summary: This is relevant to my summary because it talks about the ways of birth as well as pregnancy per and postnatal and it talks about medicine which ones are good and which ones are not. How this Influenced My Thinking: This made me realize that there is more about being pregnant and giving birth than just flowers and chocolates. It made me realize that I still have a lot to learn: credibility:it from the encyclopedia of philosophy in Standford University.
