  • Hollywood director Danny Boyle, who is best known in India for his film Slumdog Millionaire which starred Indian-origin actors Dev Patel and Freida Pinto, is all set to helm a feature adaptation of the documentary Smash and Grab: The Story of the Pink Panthers.For those unaware, the original documentary came out last year, and it talked about the world`s most successful diamond thieves. What was further intriguing about the project was that it showed a clip captured on CCTV and also the interviews with several members of the gang.After watching the documentary, Boyle decided to adapt it to silver screen, and with this, his long-term producing partner Christian Colson came on board. It is learnt that the filmmaker is going the produce the film through his Cloud Eight Films banner. Meanwhile, it is going to be co-financed by Pathe and Fox Searchlight. It was said that Boyle would search for his next project once he was once with his directorial Trance, which was a heist film, and starred James McAvoy as a London art dealer who is forced to assist in the theft of a Goya painting.Way to go!

He is a brilliant actor and always on the top of the game. That was a further challenge for me only to pull myself up. Also, Abhinav was always there to push me into delivering my best. I think Ranbir doesn't come across as a superstar that he is. He is just a hard working actor. Nitya managed to push the show forward to December 6, but since the venue had to be re-booked, it doubled the cost of the show,” informed the source, adding that Elli didn't even inform Nitya in person about the change of plans. Nitya said, “Yes, because of Elli's health problems, I had to shift the show date and have suffered losses due to that.” However, a friend of Elli, who stood up for her informed sources that they sent message to organizers that she was unwell on December 3. “Without her consent, they committed to December 6th and an ill Elli flew to Delhi and fulfilled her commitment,” he said.Elli also added, “I attended the show and did whatever was asked of me despite my ill health.”

"The first half is primarily shot in Bangalore where the romance begins. The second half was shot outside Bhuj in Gujarat, then Wai outside Pune in Maharashtra and then in Filmcity. It was a difficult film to shoot. We were shooting outdoors in the peak of summer in May and June - it was over 45 degrees every single day."The film comes out on November 22!
