Hollywood director Danny Boyle, who is best known in India for his film Slumdog Millionaire which starred Indian-origin actors Dev Patel and Freida Pinto, is all set to helm a feature adaptation of the documentary Smash and Grab: The Story of the Pink Panthers.For those unaware, the original documentary came out last year, and it talked about the world`s most successful diamond thieves. What was further intriguing about the project was that it showed a clip captured on CCTV and also the interviews with several members of the gang.After watching the documentary, Boyle decided to adapt it to silver screen, and with this, his long-term producing partner Christian Colson came on board. It is learnt that the filmmaker is going the produce the film through his Cloud Eight Films banner. Meanwhile, it is going to be co-financed by Pathe and Fox Searchlight. It was said that Boyle would search for his next project once he was once with his directorial Trance, which was a heist film, and starred James McAvoy as a London art dealer who is forced to assist in the theft of a Goya painting.Way to go!

Even though her film Besharam, which was her first film as the leading lady, didn’t work well at the box-office, the pretty lass Pallavi Sharda is keeping her chin-up, and is proud of her work. Despite coming from Australia, this Indian-origin girl took the task to fit in the role of Delhi-Punjabi girl in the film helmed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap. "I think I always wanted to play different characters. This is what I have done in my life. I am happy to oscillate between an urban city girl and 'desi' girl," she says.You may know that she debuted in Bollywood playing a small-town girl in Manoj Bajpai’s Dus Tola, and then went on to star in films like My Name Is Khan and Love Breakups Zindagi. "In any case I do come from an Indian family. I thought it would be a great challenge to be seen as this 'desi' girl." Glad to work with Ranbir Kapoor in her first leading role, she said, "Ranbir is such an amazing person. He is supportive, generous, gives a lot of space and understands that there is a lot of work done through team work," she gushes, "I had no hesitation about how he would be as a co-actor. He is a brilliant actor and always on the top of the game. That was a further challenge for me only to pull myself up. Also, Abhinav was always there to push me into delivering my best. I think Ranbir doesn't come across as a superstar that he is. He is just a hard working actor. However, due to her weak healthy, as per her spokesperson, the event got postponed from December 4 to December 6 at the last hour. Not only, had the organizer to bear the financial load, but also criticism. Fashion designer Nitya Bajaj, who helmed the event, also confirmed the report. Her manager slated the event as per Elli’s dates. All was well till Nitya was informed, on the day of the event, that Elli was unwell and wouldn't be available. “The venue was booked, the press releases had been sent out. Nitya managed to push the show forward to December 6, but since the venue had to be re-booked, it doubled the cost of the show,” informed the source, adding that Elli didn't even inform Nitya in person about the change of plans. Nitya said, “Yes, because of Elli's health problems, I had to shift the show date and have suffered losses due to that.” However, a friend of Elli, who stood up for her informed sources that they sent message to organizers that she was unwell on December 3. “Without her consent, they committed to December 6th and an ill Elli flew to Delhi and fulfilled her commitment,” he said.Elli also added, “I attended the show and did whatever was asked of me despite my ill health.”

B-town actress Hema Malini has always been passionate towards classical dancing, and performs at various events from time to time. However, she is not happy with the Indian youth’s interest in item dance numbers, and she rather believes that these numbers are not going to save India or its culture."Nritya was my puja. To save our culture we will need to return to classical dance forms and music. Item numbers will neither save India nor our culture. In Bollywood, nobody these days asks new actors whether they know or understand the nuances of classical music," Hema Malini said. What further mesmerizing was when she created a spiritual ambience through her dance-drama Ramayan, which was presented late on Friday evening at the Pushpanjali grounds near Taj Mahal. It was produced by Natya Vihar of Mumbai and helmed by Hema herself.Ravindra Jain had given the music in the drama, while Suresh Wadekar created a religious euphoria with his mesmerizing voice. Gori Tere Pyaar Mein actor Imran Khan says he has had the best time working in the movie, and it was one of the most entertaining work experiences that he has had till date. "For me this is the most fun film. What makes it special is the chemistry and interaction between me and Kareena Kapoor Khan. That is what makes the film stand up," said Imran."Kareena and I have good chemistry. I think we look good together. Part of the reason is because inherently we understand each other as actors," said Imran, who was in London with his leading lady Kareena. The film has been helmed by Punit Malhotra, and produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions.The actor said that the film has the target audience in younger couples and the family audience. "Karan likes his films to reach out across the audiences and he likes to make his films family friendly. You can watch it with your parents and parents can take their kids to watch it," he said.He also added that it was picturised in many locations. "The first half is primarily shot in Bangalore where the romance begins. The second half was shot outside Bhuj in Gujarat, then Wai outside Pune in Maharashtra and then in Filmcity. It was a difficult film to shoot. We were shooting outdoors in the peak of summer in May and June - it was over 45 degrees every single day."The film comes out on November 22!

Same is with actress Kangana Ranaut, who recently showcased her acting skills in Krrish 3, and bagged appreciations for the same.But you may not know that the actress has also been training in classical Indian dance for the past five years. And she is really happy that she could use her skills in upcoming film Rajjo, where she plays a nautch girl."I have been learning classical dance for a long time and it's just a coincidence that I got to do this film. I have been learning it for a reason that someday I will get to do kathak," said Kangana. While promoting her film recently, the actress said that she got to utilize the kathak skills for one particular song in Rajjo.Speaking of the same, she said that the art can't be learnt in a month. "I have been learning classical dance for a while now, for four to five years. A song in the climax is full of kathak that you can't learn it in a week or a month. You have to rehearse for it for a long time."The film is helmed by Vishwas Patil, Rajjo, and it is releasing on November 15. It features Kangana as the protagonist.

Bollywood diva Sridevi, who made her comeback in films with English Vinglish last year, might to feature in a Hollywood flick, tentatively titled Cowboys And Indians. It will be helmed by Amy Redford, who is the daughter of Hollywood actor-director Robert Redford and Sridevi might do a Hollywood film co-starring Oscar winning actress Meryl Streep.When sources asked about the same, Sridevi said, “It is yet to happen... talks are on. We are still going through it.” Earlier, media abuzz that she had refused many films offers as she is opting for Hollywood film. She has rejected Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor that had a negative role for her.Apparently, B-town queen Deepika Padukone was approached for English series Fast and Furious 7 but she denied the offer citing her commitments with Farah Khan for her upcoming Shah Rukh Khan starrer Happy New Year.
