Even though her film Besharam, which was her first film as the leading lady, didn’t work well at the box-office, the pretty lass Pallavi Sharda is keeping her chin-up, and is proud of her work. Despite coming from Australia, this Indian-origin girl took the task to fit in the role of Delhi-Punjabi girl in the film helmed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap. "I think I always wanted to play different characters. This is what I have done in my life. I am happy to oscillate between an urban city girl and 'desi' girl," she says.You may know that she debuted in Bollywood playing a small-town girl in Manoj Bajpai’s Dus Tola, and then went on to star in films like My Name Is Khan and Love Breakups Zindagi. "In any case I do come from an Indian family. I thought it would be a great challenge to be seen as this 'desi' girl." Glad to work with Ranbir Kapoor in her first leading role, she said, "Ranbir is such an amazing person. He is supportive, generous, gives a lot of space and understands that there is a lot of work done through team work," she gushes, "I had no hesitation about how he would be as a co-actor. He is a brilliant actor and always on the top of the game. That was a further challenge for me only to pull myself up. Also, Abhinav was always there to push me into delivering my best. I think Ranbir doesn't come across as a superstar that he is. He is just a hard working actor. When you see his humility, you are amazed."We’re sure Ranbir must be beaming ear-to-ear after hearing this!

Newbie Pallavi Sharda, who is all set to make her debut in main lead with Besharam, is said to be Raj Kapoor fan. Needless to say, that working with his grandson, Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam, was no less than a pleasure for the actress.

Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu starrer Besharam has slipped at the box-office despite a good opening. Directed by Abhinav Singh Kashyup, the film was released on October 2 over 3600 screens across the India and 700 screens overseas. Trade experts say that the movie had a good opening, but couldn’t retain the footfalls on the subsequent days.Not only critics disliked the film, but audience was not too impressed with the movie and given feedback that with Besharam, Ranbir sinks to a low. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh termed the collection of the film at box office an epic disappointment. He Tweeted, “Besharam (earned) Wednesday Rs.21.56 crore, Thursday Rs.7.13 crore, Friday Rs.5.68 crore, Saturday Rs.5.94 crore. Total is Rs.40.31 crore net. Epic disappointment!”He updated, “Besharam collects 47.31 net in its 5-day opening weekend [Wed to Sun]: Wednesday 21.56 crore, Thursday 7.13 crore, Friday 5.68 crore, Saturday 5.94 crore, Sunday 7 crore.” Also starring newcomer Pallavi Sharda, Besharam was made at a budget of Rs.60 crore in addition to the cost of promotions, marketing and advertising. “First day was good, but second day onwards the performance of the film has drastically dropped. Even on weekend, I don’t see any improvement,” Puneet Sahay of Spice Cinemas said.It is co-produced by Himanshu Mehra, Sanjeev Gupta and Reliance Entertainment.

With the promotions of Besharam being kick started, its lead stars, including Ranbir Kapoor, father Rishi Kapoor and mother Neetu Singh have been travelling places. Recently, Ranbir flew to London and there in a statement Ranbir said London is like his second home.

If latest pictures of the contestants are anything to go by, the action promises to be bolder and edgier this season in Nach Baliye. But according to Shilpa Shetty, who will again judge couple dance reality show, the new season is about romance and passion and has no vulgar content. The show will launch on November 9 and will air every Saturdays and Sundays. The actress said, “You are misunderstanding the whole concept. When we talk about passion, it does not mean vulgar. Passion is a part of every marriage, every relationship and romance. If you remove romance, there is no fun.”The 38-year-old was speaking on Friday at the launch of the show's new season, where she was accompanied by her co-judges director Sajid Khan and choreographer Terence Lewis.Sajid Khan said, Nach Baliye 6 promises dance infused with a lot of romance and passion. “There will be romance through dance, they will be marked on the basis of their dance, the audiences will vote looking at their dance. It's not Valentine's Day special. Romance is a theme, but it is a dance show,” said Sajid.The celebrity couples participating in the new season are - Gurmeet Chaudhary-Debina Bannerjee, Kanika Maheshwari-Ankur Ghai, Amrapali Gupta-Yash Sinha, Raju Srivastav-Shikha, Kiku Sharda-Priyanka, Ripudaman Handa-Shivangi, Ridhi Dogra-Raqesh Bapat, Lata Sabharwal-Sanjeev Seth, Rithvik Dhanjani-Asha Negi, Bruna Abdullah-Omar Farooque and Vinod Thakur-Raksha.
