Brand Ambassador Vidya Balan attended the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne Conference (IFFM) as the Victorian Coalition Government extended its support for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne by one year, reinforcing strong bond that exists between the Victorian and Indian screen industries.Recently the actress spoke at length about various aspects of her film-career. She is also well-aware that her weight is the talk of the town at the moment.“My weight has become the talking point of the nation. Why is everyone bothered about it? Is it a national issue?  I am just trying to work on my body shape, keeping in mind my character in the film. Believe me, I am not doing anything special. I am not dieting. I am happy with the way I look and hope people would leave it at that,” says, Vidya.At the same time, she is geared up to play first female detective of India in upcoming film Bobby Jasoos. The Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha production is being directed by debutant Samar Shaikh. “Samar is a very talented director. I am really looking forward to working with him,” she says. The movie goes on floor in November.

However, Vidya Balan feels that remaking Mehboob Khan's Oscar-nominated Mother India is an unattainable feat and even if anyone tries to do so, she will never be a part of it. Vidya has donned the look of Nargis, as a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema look from the 1957 cult film Mother India and Meena Kumari's from the 1962-classic Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, for Cineblitz's special edition.

Vidya Balan’s last hit came in the form with Kahaani, as her last release Ghanchakkar failed to entertain the audience. And now she is looking forward to change the scenario with her upcoming film Shaadi ke Side Effects, for which a release date has been finalized.It is learnt that the comedy flick will come out on Valentine’s Day. "My next movie is releasing next year on Feb 14. It's with Farhan Akhtar. We are almost done with the shoot. Just two days' work left," Vidya told reporters here.

Vidya Balan’s last release Ghanchakkar failed to garner good reviews from the critics as well as the audience. However, now she gears up for yet another release Shaadi Ke Side Effects, where she will be seen opposite Farhan Akhtar.Director Saket Chaudhary says, "The film attempts to explain what most people fail to understand in a lifetime — what makes a marriage work!"Producer Pritish Nandy says, "The film is peppered with loads of post-marriage side effects. When Sid (played by Farhan) makes a mistake, he says sorry. And when his wife Trisha (played by Vidya) makes a mistake, he says sorry again! It is a witty, sexy, hilarious comedy that will warm your hearts."He further says, "We have Farhan and Vidya, together for the first time on screen. They make the perfect couple, each fighting for space in their marriage."The theatrical trailer will be out with Krrish 3, which releases on November 1, and stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Vivek Oberoi as leads.
