Hollywood director Danny Boyle, who is best known in India for his film Slumdog Millionaire which starred Indian-origin actors Dev Patel and Freida Pinto, is all set to helm a feature adaptation of the documentary Smash and Grab: The Story of the Pink Panthers.For those unaware, the original documentary came out last year, and it talked about the world`s most successful diamond thieves. What was further intriguing about the project was that it showed a clip captured on CCTV and also the interviews with several members of the gang.After watching the documentary, Boyle decided to adapt it to silver screen, and with this, his long-term producing partner Christian Colson came on board. It is learnt that the filmmaker is going the produce the film through his Cloud Eight Films banner. Meanwhile, it is going to be co-financed by Pathe and Fox Searchlight. It was said that Boyle would search for his next project once he was once with his directorial Trance, which was a heist film, and starred James McAvoy as a London art dealer who is forced to assist in the theft of a Goya painting.Way to go!

Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar proved his credibility with his role in epic film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, which was immensely appreciated by the critics as well as the audience. Now, the latest the sources hear about the actor is that he would be seen in Bejoy Nambiar’s film, where he is expected to share screen space with none other than megastar Amitabh Bachchan. We would like to remind you that even the two have earlier worked in Lakshya, which starred Mr. Bachchan, and was directed by Farhan, but it would be first time when Farhan and Mr. Bachchan would be seen together on silver screen. The film would be produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Sources close to the project said, "This time the two will be working together as actors. The film is going to be a high voltage drama.''As of now, Farhan is keen to explore himself in acting, hence direction would ultimately take a backseat for a time being. But it is learnt that he will write dialogues for his sister Zoya’s upcoming film, and Nitya Mehra's directorial debut. Earlier we heard that top-line actors choose their directors with whom they want to work, but this is quite surprising that nowadays actors have also shown their interest in picking out producers of their films. Beauty queen and Bollywood’s one the most sought out actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has recently indicated to her director that she will choose the producer for the project. As per the sources, a producer of Aishwarya’s forthcoming film, which might be directed by Prahlad Kakar, issued a statement that she had given green-light for his film. On the announcement, Ash, who was in Kolkata on that day, was reportedly unhappy with the news leak.  She is happy to do a film with her husband Abhishek Bachchan and has also indicated that she may do a film directed by Prahlad Kakar. But if gossipmongers have to be believed then she has asked her film director that she will choose the producer for the project. According to the director's side, it had come out that there will be final narration given to the diva around October 15 or so and also that the project may take off in the beginning of 2014. Let’s see who bags the golden chance to produce Ash’s comeback film? As a die-hard fan of the blue-eyed girl, we only want to see her back on the silver screen, no matter who will produce the flick and who will direct.

B-town beauty Lara Dutta, who is currently away from Bollywood, so that she could focus on raising her child, is set to put forth her designing skills as she will soon launch her own sari collection. She says that designing is her new baby."I have done films for 10 years. This is something new that I have forayed into; so it's my new baby. I am excited about the response from the customers," said Lara, who was in Delhi to launch her second sari range in association with Chhabra 555. Married to tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi, Dutta, 35, started designing last year, and it was then she created a whole line of saris. "The second collection is far more traditional. Personally I am a big fan of Benarasi saris and many other old-age fabrics; so I wanted to make those weaves younger and contemporary. Normally, we associate Benarasi saris with our aunts and our mothers, but I wanted to give it a younger and trendy feel," she said. Even though she is seen less on silver screen nowadays, Lara has no qualms. "I think each thing has its own space in life. I enjoyed being busy. My priority is my daughter. That will always be my number one priority. Now she is getting older, so I am getting more time to celebrate and concentrate on my own work; so here I am promoting the brand as much as possible," she said. Wish you luck!

The star actress Sonakshi Sinha recently attended an event held in Ahmedabad where she had to experience something bitter that was hard to bear. She was promoting her upcoming film in the event, which was organised comprised of an all female audience.When she took the stage many women mobbed on the dias covering her completely, not giving her enough space for breathing. The situation worsened when a women’s elbow hit Sonakshi’s face leaving no option for her but to leave the event immediately. The actress who had maintained a calm demeanor lost her patience and got all worked up. An eyewitness revealed, “She got irritated and decided to leave. With great difficulty her staff could make way for the actress to back to the hotel room.”Apart from this, Sonakshi Sinha recently graced the opening ceremony of 15th Mumbai Film Festival at the Liberty Cinema Hall in Mumbai. She also visited sets of Junior Master Chef on Star Plus and promoted R…Rajkumar. Sonakshi looked gorgeous in her black attire and silver ear rings that enhanced her look.
